Day 25 - Song from the 70’s

This was Billy Joel’s first single…

It has since become Billy's signature song, and is based on his time playing piano at the Executive Room bar in Los Angeles, and all the familiar faces he saw there, except he was calling himself Bill Martin at the time.

Was certainly his first single to chart, but I think he released a couple of songs before that without success.

Love this song though. It is a great companion to The Entertainer which speaks of his dissatisfaction and struggles once he'd made the big time...
