❌Monthly Song Challenge: Archived🎵

This is probably my favorite Heart album. They try a bunch of different things, and they all work well. And they can still rock it out. I have main floor tickets for their fall tour.

Probably? I'll see that, and raise you... hehehe.
It's almost certainly my favourite album from a band that I really luv!
I'm so jealous of your tickets for the fall... damn!
(But I live out in the middle of nowhere, so I doubt they'll swing by here... lol.)

Day 18: A song from the 70s

Kick It Out - Heart (+2 for 21)

I just commented 'on a comment' about this classic song (lol), so I guess I ought to comment on the original post, as well.
My favourite album by one of my favourite bands, from my favourite decade, and right in the middle of my favourite era of Heart's greatness!
You totally nailed it. Fantastic song selection! Thank you.

Magazine was pretty solid. 1/1a. "Heartless" is a banger.

Cheap Trick is opening. I love Cheap Trick as well.

I might have posted this song before. God, I love it.

Joni Mitchell - A Case Of You

God, I luv it, too! Thank you for posting this! I needed my Joni fix... mmmmm. Brilliant.
Felt like I was posting her too often, so I gave it a brief break... but whenever I don't see her here, I go through withdrawal.
Thank you for making everything right in my world again. Awesome song selection! Fantastic...

Oh yeah, 'Heartless' rocks!
I definitely go through phases of being really into Cheap Trick... which is a bit different from my "constant" luv for Heart.
But I've always wanted to see Cheap Trick in concert. They're such a famous 'live band' But again, relatively few big acts make their way up here...
Enjoy the show! It should be a great time!

Day 19: A song from the 80s
(Woman/Alcohol, +2 = 32)

Autoamerican is an odd album for Blondie. Gone are the high pitched vocals and poppy melodies, replaced by soulful introspection, jazzy trumpets and bluesy pianos. There's spoken word and, as you breathe it in, you can almost taste the smoke in Debbie's voice.

A critical failure, but a commercial success, the album was polarizing to say the least.
"This isn't Blondie"
Oh, yes it was.
This was Blondie at their absolute best.

Probably my favourite Blondie album! But I pretty much agree with everything you said here. Totally true. Great choice!

Day 18: A song from the 80s

U2 - Pride (In the Name of Love) featuring Chrissie Hynde

Chrissie Hynde (credited as Christine Kerr, married name at the time.) sang backup vocals for the song.

Early morning[evening], April four
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky.
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride.

The song contains the erroneous reference to King's shooting as "Early morning, April 4," when it actually occurred after 6 p.m. Bono acknowledges the error and in live performances he often changes the lyric to "Early evening..."

+1 for Irish artist (either from Ireland or Irish descent)
+1 if the artist is a woman
