Day 3: A song you hate to love
I’m not a believer in “guilty pleasures”, because if I like something, I like it without shame. That said, this is probably the closest song I can think of for this prompt.

I’m a huge Beach Boys and Dennis Wilson fan, and I love this song. However, “Never Learn Not to Love” is a song that was credited to Dennis Wilson as the songwriter although it is a modified version of a song called “Cease to Exist” by Charles Manson. This song and its lyrical modifications coupled with Manson not being given a writing credit was one of the major catalysts that culminated with Charles Manson directing his hippie horde to commit mass murder a few months after its release. I’m a fan of the song even though I’m not a fan of the backstory and history of it.

Day 3: A song you hate to love

I had to debate whether hers or another lady's version was my least favorite.

+1,

Day 2

Given the Australian Rugby league is on in Vegas this minute, here is the theme song for the 1991 rugby league..tv ads and games started with this song

So much about this is quintessentially Australian 🥰
The national obsession with Tina Turner.
The fact that s cigarette company headlined the biggest sport in the nation.

Nostalgic and good stuff.

Day 3: A song you hate to love

"Off With Your Head/Thriller Mashup," Glee cast. (+2)

I am not one for guilty pleasure music, or really guilty pleasure anything. We love what we love. Deathsport is a horrible, B-movie with ridiculous dialog, a story stolen from Star Wars, and David Carradine and Claudia Jennings are both obviously high as kites being flown by other flying kites in every single scene. And I sincerely love it. I embrace what I enjoy, usually, Ke$ha not withstanding.

That said, the music of Glee was saccharine, overproduced, and so so so twee. It was so assured that it was clever, and rubbing your face in how clever, and hip, and "hey! We know this cool song!" it was. Every moment. Gah. It was over-commercial garbage. Except...

The mash-up of The Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Heads Will Roll," and Michael Jackson's "Thriller." And the reason is the late, lamented, Naya Rivera. She absolutely kills it, anchoring the song with the much lesser-known parts from "Heads Will Roll." Absolutely kills it. She was always one of the stronger voices in the show, but this is a peak. And I hate to say it, but it is totally an improvement over Karen O's original track. They expand the chorus by repeating it, and it doesn't fill in the song, it makes it its own. Which is remarkable, considering it is mashed up with a modern-day classic.

So I hate that I love a Glee song. But I love this Glee song. Dance 'til your dead, kids!

Oh, and I love this video. Blame the horror fan, former football player, and snare drummer. (The snare drum break during the "Vincent Price" part is fire, as the kids say. The real drum part I mean, not the electric one.)

(for me: +7 total. Yay, me!)

Day 3: A song you hate to love

Thanks the @The_spirit_of_oz for making today's prompt easy.

The nutbush is one of those songs that immediately separates the Aussies from the rest of the world when it plays because we do this:

Nutbush City Limits - Tina Turner

(Rumour has it that all new immigrants must pass the nutbush test before they're granted naturalization)

Song you love to hate

+2 multiple female "artists"
Spice Girls "Wannabe"

Excuse me. I need to go factory reset my phone, trade it in, delete my YouTube/Google accounts and start over, then take a scalding shower and test the limits on how long my water heater can keep up.

4 points in total.

This is Day 3: A song you hate to love, not one you love to hate.

Day 3- A song you hate to love
It's cheesy. It was overplayed when it first came out. But I never got tired of hearing it.

Hate to love (+1, total 3)

Now that I'm awake and reading properly, Skye Sweetnam's "(Let's Get Moving) Into Action" was originally written for her by Tim Armstrong. They did a black and white video for it for Tim's solo project, but then she redid the song and did her own video for her 2007 album.

In looking into whether she was someone I would want to get into, she doesn't come off as an actual songwriter, more of a performer, so I'm actually disappointed that I like this track

Bonus points!

I’m doing something a little different this month.

Please track your own points. Honor system.
*Breaking the cardinal rule will disqualify you for the month*

March is women’s month!

+5 for dedicating a song to me 👑 (this can only be used once in the month)

+5 for perfect attendance

Points might be awarded at random as well. Haven’t decided about that part.
People with the highest points at the end of the month will win… something 🥳.
Bumping points info for anyone who might need it
@MrsPassion 😘

Wouldn’t this one just be +1? 🤨

Day 3: A song you love to hate
I'm gonna pass as I'm struggling to think of a song/ music
For me, I either love a song or hate it. There is no in between
