Back in high school and college, I had a buddy who was mostly into New Wave, and didn't listen to much of anything else.

Years later, he thanked me for introducing him to this song (specifically, the live version, like here), saying that it was something that he otherwise would never have considered listening to.

I had forgotten about this song until the other day when I happened to hear it again. It brought back a lot of good memories.

However the video reminds me that I was too young for stick on rhinestones in the late 90s/early aughts and too old when they came back about 10(?) years ago and that is a great injustice Maybe I'll be too old to give a fuck when they make the rounds next time
