Day 11: A song from the 80s

Continuing on yesterday. After the death of disco the Chicago club scene moved underground. The clubs were ran by Black DJs of which the majority were gay. The smaller communities created a new kind of music intending to bring people together and create a new sense of community for groups that were commonly marginalized. This was the birth of house music.
Frankie Knuckles is considered the "Godfather of House music.

Thank a LGBT person today, my favorite genres wouldn't exist without them. PLUR

On this thread we’re just supposed to post just one song per day. Makes it a tougher challenge.

Day 11: Song from the 80s

Hard to believe the 4-Skins did a Peel session! But they did… altho it never aired due to the Hambrough Hall riot.

I first heard this song on the very first Oi! Compilation. Supposedly, they were gonna get a bigger record deal if they changed the name to skins 4. They were having none of that, and had a pretty good career on secret records.

I never got a chance to see them, but I heard their shows were always 100% energy!
