Day 21: A song for feeling powerful
Butterflies and Hurricanes - Muse
That is an incredible story, and beautifully told. I cannot thank you enough.

And I was one of the very very few who had flood insurance. So, ironically, it was the flood that ultimately gave me the financial relief all my hard work was supposed to bring. Ain't life weird?
It's a weird world. I'm just glad I don't have to paint it.

Day 22: A song for feeling tired

This song has a terrible melancholy that really weighs down my chest. I don't find myself physically tired very often, but boy does the emotional and mental stress of existence get to you. In a perfect world none of you could relate to the song, but we all know how relationships go.

Day 22- A song for being tired

Misinterpreting sad pop lyrics as personal strain since 2003 🤪

I used to beg for this song to be played on repeat before bed. My cousin, bewildered but obliging, would put it on her computer while my sister and I lay in our bunks, soaking it in like it understood something we couldn’t explain.

Even then, I think we were looking for reflection - something that mirrored the ache we didn’t have words for. My cousin thought it was a strange choice for comfort, but now, I get it. Even sadness can feel like recognition. And sometimes, that alone is enough to lull you to sleep.

Everytime - Britney Spears

At night I pray
That soon your face will fade away
And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you baby
