Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love.

I love being in love. That said, I am not of a mood to fall in love, so I am not of a mood to pick a song to fall in love to. Part of me wants to pick an "anti-love" song, but I try to honor to the general theme of the prompt. So this isn't a song about falling in love as much as it is about what love means. This is a rather remarkable Alanis Morissette song about how love should be. It is a crime that this was never released as a single.

You owe me nothing for giving the love that I give
You owe me nothing for caring the way that I have
I give you thanks for receiving, it's my privilege
And you owe me nothing in return
-----
This is the only kind of love, as I understand it
That there really is

It doesn't make me want to fall in love, this song makes me want to be in love.

"You Owe Me Nothing," Alanis Morissette.

(and there are no strings attached)

Tinseltown In The Rain - The Blue Nile
This song makes me do many things, laugh, cry, sit in the corner and never move and dance around and scream it out. It feels like falling in love, it feels like a lot of things because it is, quite simply, one of THE greatest songs ever. The ambiguity means you can use it as a falling in or out of love song "will we always be happy go lucky?"
"all this talking is only bravado" indeed because...
"Do i love you? YES I love you."
ohhh, Tinseltown

This could fit 25 and 26! This song never fails to put a smile on my face so upbeat and happy a bit like falling in love I guess (Also definitely not a song I admit to liking!)
Now there's two of us. I feel absolutely the same about this song. I think I still have the CD single somewhere. "Hill, Faith"... Must be next to the Hives.

Even though I am in the same boat as @UnquietDreams ... I will recall a time in my youth when I was still enamored with the idea of the Disney fairytale that sucks you in and makes you believe in "true love."

This version is the one I remember most. I have heard the Doris Day, Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole versions and love them as well. But, I love Celine. Always have.

Sleeples in Seattle was inspired by one of my favorite Cary Grant movies, An Affair to Remember. I can't watch either one without thinking of my Nana, who loved romantic films. This song was in the soundtrack.

When I Fall in Love - Celine Dion & Clive Griffin

Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love

Taking it in a different direction, there are plenty of songs about falling in love. And why wouldn't there be? The beginning stage is always fun. Not enough songs about learning to love yourself. Tackling that one is my priority these days so I'm picking this one.
Sam Smith - Love Me More

Day 26: A song that makes you want to fall in love

Possibly the greatest love song ever written.. The occasional spoken-word, Knopfler's steel-strung acoustic riff on his iconic National O-guitar, the lyrics taking you through a story of puppy love and sex, to disenchantment and heart-ache.

Poetry.

You and me, babe, how about it?

Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet

A song that makes you want to fall in love... Yes.
But to also feel loved, to give love, and to always spread love throughout my life

I'm a hopeless romantic.. I always want to fall in love. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

But this morning, pondering love songs I thought of this one, which I haven't heard in a long time but I think it's beautiful.

Rod Stewart - You're In My Heart (The Final Acclaim)
My love for you is immeasurable
My respect for you immense
You're ageless, timeless, lace and fineness
You're beauty and elegance
You're a rhapsody, a comedy
You're a symphony and a play
You're every love song ever written
But honey what do you see in me?

I love that last line. Such a well written song.

I have teared up at that line… more times than I want to know. 🥹🥹
