[“From the river to the sea” remix]
I don’t know who some of these people (posters) are and they clearly do not know who I am, but we see their faces every day. When you see people tearing down posters of dead children. You see them. When they shout down conservative speakers on campus, you see them. When they threaten the families of judges and politicians with harm and picket their homes, you see them. When they block traffic or protest the untimely death of someone they have no personal investment in, but use that death as a symbol for all people of that circumstance whether or not they are “victims,” and as an excuse to riot, loot and burn, you see their faces. When you see people in every attempt at civil discourse and they, instead, engage in angry argument screaming “Nazi,” you know them, you’ve seen their faces before. When your pursuit of happiness, your employment, your family activities are superseded and disrupted while some angry, minority, group exercises their “right to free speech,” we see you. In every genocide, every atrocity, every mass inhumane event, you see their faces. Faces of hate, intolerance and The True Believer(s) (Hoffer).
When you say all of these nasty, hateful things, when you side with Hamas, We see you.
We know you. Faceless and nameless, by joining in hate,
you feel seen, validated and vindicated.
