There are no American conservatives any more, only reactionaries. Conservatives are cautious -- that is the only characteristic of conservatism that has any value at all. Conservatives are averse to radical experiments that might have unintended consequences. No conservative would ever shout "Lock her up!" or "End the Fed!" or "Molon labe!" When Wall Street's capital games can buy up the entire Eastern European industrial system but can't fix the rust belt factories in Ohio; when Pentagon missiles can strike targets accurately in the Middle East but can't stop fentanyl from flooding their own communities—this kind of tearing apart is more fatal than an ideological collapse. The Soviet Union lost to bread and butter, while the US is being choked to death by the entertainment it invented itself.

African-American culture is Anglo-Saxon. It is a uniquely American ethnic subculture that has very little in common with anything to be found in Africa, the Caribbean or Latin America. Their music, like their speech, owes more to that of the white South than to anything African.

I will add that American political culture is a fusion of European Enlightenment ideas about society with Native American ideas about freedom. That's why fascism took root in the 1930's more easily in Europe than in the United States, and why Trump is struggling now.
