...a film, with Natalie Portman and Dustin Hoffman. Why did I watch it? Well, I kinda screen for suitable children’s movies that my grandchildren may not have seen yet…but usually they have.

While I was watching it, the song by, ‘Lovin’ Spoonful’, “Magic in a young girls, heart/soul/touch…” kept coursing through my mind.

Then I visited the forum and read some nonsense about women in the army, lady cops & firefighters, jet pilots and tank drivers, what the hell…

Several years ago I googled the amount of money women spend on make-up and fashion items; and weight loss clinics and surgery to enhance or diminish parts of the body, including the face.

That ‘magic’ in a young girl’s heart and soul is cultivated because she is female with certain attributes not endowed the male of the species and with good cause, I happily add.

“Secret Garden”, with Kate Maberly is one such, there are thousands more, ‘Cinderella’ type inspirational themes that have always been part of the nature and history of the species until women started wearing pants and spitting tobacco juice.

There are a couple other threads about Lesbian Love and couples kissing in a Mall and the wonder of same sex love; why be cruel, I thought, let them have their fifteen minutes of fame.

There may be something gained with this ‘enlightened’ attitude, but I doubt it; and much has been lost.

Like skirt lengths, public attitudes change and the pendulum has paused mid swing and is turning the other way; as inevitably it must.

Anyways, I like watching Natalie Portman, be it ‘The Professional”, “V for Vendetta” or that Walmart baby thing; cute kid, good actress.

(The above for your entertainment or diversion, or departure, from the usual fare...ain't opposing thoughts enervating and exhiliarating?)

I might add "Cutting Edge", with Moira Kelly, but thas a little grown up for y'all.:)

I just found out that the same actress that played Kim in Better Than Chocolate (lesbian film) is in the new astronaut sitcom called Defying Gravity, sporting a better haircut.

Hmmm...(Amicus scratches head...) I would also add, the films, "Stick It", with Missy Peregrym, and "The Road to Terabithia", both featuring young women in inspirational roles...
