Honestly, I doubt anything will happen. I think the chances are slim to none.

However, I do think it was irresponsible on both of their parts to both use/post the address in the first place and then to take it to the newsgroups as it was.

Yes, the chances are slim, but nowadays with all of the fucked up people using the internet, you just can't be too careful - and if something were to happen to the person living at that address, the both of them should be held fully responsible for it.

It has nothing to do with 'self respect' and everything to do with anger/emotional reaction/mental instability.


A responsible adult wouldn't put some innocent, unknowing party at risk - no matter how small - over a stupid internet brawl.

It was an ill advised move on the part of the individual who gave the address. I'm aware of how that came to be and it was more in the gesture of a joke than a serious attempt to cause or deflect harm. That does't excuse the breach, but motives do play a part in all of this.

The individual, bullshit, it's LollingTongue so why are we being so obtuse here, that post that address all over the internet is basically deranged and devoid of values or common sense.

I liken this to Credit Card theft or fraud. If I give you the numbers off my Credit Card, I'm pretty fucking stupid. If you use those numbers you're a fucking criminal. Simple.

Eh. It's LT. It's like telling a chihuahua about a big ol' piece of steak. He'll yip and yap but in the end, when you come back alter that day, the steak's still there and the chihuahua's still just yipping and yapping.
 
Wow some harsh words passed in this thread. Sometimes we don't know the outcome of our actions or even conceive what might happen. We're all adults (most of us) so hopefully we take into account the end results.

Ok, enough babbling... I have no opinion I guess *shruggs shoulders* If it was stupid then it was stupid.
 
It's not just LT who is wrong, IMO. It's WARMACHINE also, for giving out an address which isn't his, but is a REAL ADDRESS with someone else probably living there who has no clue who WARMACHINE or LIT is.

Wamachine gives smoene online a "real" credit card number....says it is his, Loving tongue uses it and posts it all over for everyone to see.

I think the entire thread should be deleted and everyone that posted in it censored. It's happened for a lot less. It's unfair to treat people differently. It should be handled the same way in every situation.

I understand Angel. But it's still an imformation vs how you use it issue. I'll stick with my CC scenario though. Even if I gave out someone else's CC number I certainly did something ill advised and probably broke a trust in doing so. But there was no criminal act until that CC number was used.

The real issue is was what LT did a criminal act? Not yet. It would be a fine point of law, but LT did post that information with the sole purpose of causing harm and all of the information needed to prove that is right here on Lit. It is very likely that if anything untoward were to happen to whoever is at that address as a result of his actions, he could be prosecuted. And he should be. Could WM be dragged into it? Possibly. But I doubt the prosecution could make much of a case there.

May be the culprit should be banned.
