Luckily where I live, once it gets cold we don’t have a melting problem, although this winter has been super weird so far.
Guys around here are usually ok with their 4 x 4 but you can lose your life to the elements here is you do dumb stuff. The real idiots here are the underaged car thieves! Some can barely see over the dash, not to mention having almost no driving ability

Sounds too familiar as we have similar night time icing. Black ice is deceptive to the eyes. I have seen large SUVs hit it go 30 mph, slide sideways and the hit dry pavement proceeding to flip over. I called 911 right away.

Black ice is something we get here also. Especially treacherous on hills and overpasses.

Heading out for 10. Hope everyone had a wonderful night and has the victims of Helene and Milton in there prayers. I saw last night that there fema hotel vouchers have expired and that some are being moved into tents.

That is SO not OK! I think vouchers should be available until ppl have reliable and safe housing. Tents are NOT that!

Around here it's beat up old rusted white pickups with lift kits and more value in the rims and tires that the truck is worth.
More often than not, spewing black diesel smoke.
(Don't get me wrong, I love hot rods and working on high horsepower engines. Just make 'em burn clean and turn it into horsepower, not smoke and soot!)

The last g/f asked me why there was a bench grinder on the kitchen table.


I said, because it's my table, in my kitchen, in my house, under my roof, on my lot, and that if she cared to check down at city hall to look at the deed, that no one else's name is listed on it, and that ownership is listed as homme sole . . . and because fuck her, that's why.


She was gone very soon thereafter. That was quite a while ago, too.
