Em-dashes appearing as two hyphens

I have just noticed that in the stories I’ve posted, the em-dash, of which I am inordinately fond, is appearing as two hyphens. (Meaning that — is appearing as --). Is there a way to deal with this? I could live with three hyphens, since that is the traditional typewriter shorthand for when the glyph of an em-dash is unavailable, but two hyphens is traditionally the stand in for an en-dash (–), and it bothers me out of all proportion to have it seem like I don’t know the difference between the two dashes. I admit this probably doesn’t matter for anyone other than the typographic obsessives, but I suspect I’m not the only typophile on Literotica!

It's a quirk Lit has had for a long time. Basically, if you're not using Word, there's a high probability it's going to misinterpret your em dashes.

What I do to get around it is use the special character code. —

I do a find/replace when creating the final formatted document for here.

I certainly understand frustrations with such trivialities. But talk about first-world problems... 😉

Thank you! I’ll just use word I suppose (I’ve been using Google Docs but em dashes are worth Word!)
