My point is that Donald Trump is worth more to his backers dead, than he is alive. Dead, Trump can be used to justify a brutal crackdown on the Democrats. Alive, he's just a senile old crook who can't follow orders and can't keep to the script. JD Vance is a more useful tool to have in the Oval Office.

I agree but my understanding is they’re currently try to amend the constitution to allow a third term.. if his health declines enough during this term that he wouldn’t make it to a third term or their efforts to amend the constitution fail then yes, this could happen.. the irony here is even if it did happen precisely like that none of these people would acknowledge it because it’d be your theory over what the party would tell them which would certainly not be an admission.
The republican party backed themselves into a corner by aligning themselves with someone not a politician, that they probably worry if they can pull this off again with an actual politician. Martyrdom is a safer route for sure to sell someone new that isn’t Trump.
During George W’s presidency there was a made for tv movie in the UK that outlined this except in that case it was the veteran who shot him but the party used that death to take further control of the country post -9/11.

Nobody is doing that. Amendments require two thirds of the states to request and then three fourths to ratify. Trump will be dead by the time that happened.. .likely the rest of us would be as well

Weren’t there mostly Republicans voted in this year and Trump has said he will basically fire anyone not loyal to him or someone else will do it for him.

You need to study up on how Constitutional Amendments work.
He can do all of that and still not get any Amendment for a third term.

We’re women talking about a rapist who became president, you don’t think that deserves an emotional reaction, also, theorizing a staged assassination when people from his own party has already tried to kill him 3 times (all his assassins were Republicans) before he was even elected isn’t an emotional response, its basically just taking bets on when and how the next one will happen
