More cognitive decline from the Sorest Winner Ever:

Trump Calls for Investigation Into Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen Performances

President Donald Trump has called for a "major investigation" into celebrities who aided Kamala Harris' 2024 election campaign, including Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Bono, saying their appearances were potentially illegal contributions.

Newsweek has contacted representatives for the Kamala Harris campaign, Bono, and the production companies for Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, via email, along with Oprah's production company, via LinkedIn, for comment.

Why It Matters

Trump is raising fresh questions about how the Federal Election Commission interprets campaign event performances and what constitutes an in-kind contribution, and the broader implications could influence how future political events harness celebrity influence.

What To Know

The president's call for an investigation comes amid a spat between Trump and Springsteen, after the musician, known as "The Boss," opened his tour on Wednesday night by calling the Trump administration "corrupt, incompetent and treasonous."

In response, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social and called Springsteen "a pushy, obnoxious JERK" and a "dried-out 'prune' of a rocker."

Springsteen spoke out again after Trump's social media post, saying that events in America "are altering the very nature of our country's democracy."

Trump posted to his Truth Social platform on Monday: "HOW MUCH DID KAMALA HARRIS PAY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN FOR HIS POOR PERFORMANCE DURING HER CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT?

"WHY DID HE ACCEPT THAT MONEY IF HE IS SUCH A FAN OF HERS? ISN'T THAT A MAJOR AND ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION? WHAT ABOUT BEYONCÉ? ...AND HOW MUCH WENT TO OPRAH, AND BONO???

Wow. This president can get HIS JUSTICE DEPT to do anything he wants.
Poor Nixon had nothing like this power.

Can Trump just do us all a favor and SHUT THE HELL UP?

And he's a working-class hero, which Trump only thinks he is.
What's really depressing is, I've run into quite a few Springsteen fans who think now that he's rich, he doesn't really understand the working man and woman at all. Somehow they don't think that applies to Trump - who was born rich and has actually lost most of his fortune in one way or another - but not Springsteen, who was born poor and worked his tail off to become a success.

Trump is still an uppity JACKASS. I cannot wait for his ugly ass to be gone on 20 January 2029.

Potential illegle campaign contributions should only be investigated if given to Republicans. That' why I love this board. Conversations based on logic. :)

Illegal contributions are legal if given to Trump. That's why we love MAGAt logic.

While he is filling the media with this twaddle. who was reporting the loss of the triple-A credit rating and the subsequent increase in the cost of servicing US debt.

trump must have forgotten that the Village People played at his political rallies.

I have mixed feelings about trump paying attention and spending energy on stupid stuff that doesn’t even matter. But if it takes away from time spent damaging the country then I guess I’m ok with it overall.

First signs of the backlash against Trump: Gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey.

This is the crap that's important to the country? His obsession with entertainers is momd blowing.

But it would be ok to crawl up Kid Rock's butthole with a microscope wookin' pa nub. :)
