The former president of an evangelical get-out-the-vote nonprofit, which seeks to motivate Christian voters to promote family values and “biblical truth” in the public square, was charged Monday (Nov. 4) with eight counts of possessing child pornography.

During an interview on Sept. 13, Yates allegedly .... declined to give law enforcement a password for encrypted files on the hard drive.

“Defendant stated that he had a prior conviction, which had been expunged, related to CSAM/child pornography,” the complaint filed against Yates alleges.

Founded as the Vision Charitable Trust in 2007, My Faith Votes began spending millions starting in 2016 to motivate Christian votes. The group was founded by Sealy Yates, an influential Christian literary agent for best-selling authors such as Chuck Swindoll, John Maxwell, Mark Driscoll and Ben Carson — with Carson serving as an honorary chairman when the nonprofit began focusing on voting. Former presidential candidate turned conservative talk show host Mike Huckabee currently serves as the group’s honorary chair.

Wired magazine recently described My Faith Votes as one of a group of nonprofits aimed at rallying support for former President Donald Trump through get-out-the-vote efforts. My Faith Votes is also one of the partners of the “Letter to the American Church” film based on a book by pro-Trump radio host Eric Metaxas, which claims America is being overtaken by secular forces.

An ex-GOP staffer who helped design social media ads for Donald Trump’s re-election campaign has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for receiving hundreds of child sexual abuse materials, including videos of babies being raped.

Ruben Verastigui, 29, reportedly posted a photograph of himself at the White House just two months before his arrest on child pornography offenses. According to his now-deleted LinkedIn account, Verastigui previously worked as a senior digital strategist for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee. The former chairman of Oklahoma College Republicans has been sentenced after pleading guilty to sex crime charges, according to the Oklahoma County Court Clerk’s office.

Jonathan Hernandez was arrested in July 2022 on one count of forced oral sodomy and one count of indecent or lewd acts with a child under 16.

According to the affidavit, Hernandez met the then-14-year-old victim at church where Hernandez was a minister.

Former Oklahoma State Senator Ralph Shortey has learned his sentence after pleading guilty to child sex trafficking.

A federal judge sentenced Shortey to 15 years in prison to be followed by 10 years of supervised release.During the sentencing hearing the FBI asked for Shortey to be sentenced to 24 to 30 years. The former State Senator appeared in court in cuffs and gave a statement, saying he hoped the sentencing will be closure to those involved.

Shortey pleaded guilty in November in exchange for prosecutors dropping child pornography charges against him.

He was arrested in March 2017 after police found him in a motel room with a 17-year-old boy.

Rick Roeber, a Lee’s Summit Republican accused by his adult children of sexual and physical abuse, was expelled from the Missouri House on Wednesday on a 153-0 vote. One legislator voted “present.”

Only one member of the Missouri House has ever been expelled before. The charge at that time, in 1865, was disloyalty to the Union.

Wednesday’s vote follows the recommendation by the House Ethics Committee, which asked for Roeber to be expelled following a four-month investigation into allegations that in the early 1990s Roeber sexually abused his children, who at the time were 9 and 5.

A county commissioner in Indiana pleaded guilty to sexual assault in Nevada just days after he was elected to a new position.

According to the Greenfield Daily Reporter, Hancock County Commissioner John Jessup was accused of sexual assault in Las Vegas back in January. Despite the allegations, he remained in office as a commissioner and stayed on the ballot for this November’s election for Hancock County Council (which differs from the Hancock County Commission) while on house arrest in Las Vegas.

As convicted felons cannot serve in office in Indiana, Jessup will have to resign.

Damn, Indiana has higher standards than the Presidency.

Zachary Joseph Radcliff, a church leader affiliated with conservative politics, has been charged with multiple felonies, including sexual abuse of children.

The 29-year-old worship director from Oakwood Church in Augusta Township, Michigan, faces 11 felony counts, with charges dating back a decade.

Radcliff was arraigned on Sunday on two counts of aggravated "child sexually abusive activity," two counts of child sexually abusive activity, and six counts of using the internet to communicate with another to commit a crime. He could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

The charges stem from incidents as early as 2014, according to court records.

Radcliff, who performed a song at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2019, is a known supporter of Donald Trump's MAGA movement.

Earlier this year, he posted a photo on Instagram account @zachradcliffmusic of himself wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat and a Donald Trump shirt on his Instagram account. He captioned the picture, "Happy 4th of July to my Conservative, Independent, AND Liberal friends/family! Let freedom ring!"

Kyle Hayden Lewter, 36, allegedly killed Derek Franklin Walls, 54, of Harvest, Alabama, last week during a “physical altercation,” according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
