Yup…Not everything translates all that well:
I work for a large international property and casualty insurance company. Every two years on even years they have a large meeting of property underwriting bigwigs, called IPUM. (International Property Underwriting Meeting).
Following this logic, what do you think they call the casualty meetings???

Bonjour Montréal. J'espère que tout va bien.Super alors, Montréal ici.
Erecting buildings is one thing. Then you need the Director of Maintenance!!Worked with a guy, who was in charge of erecting buildings. The German company made him business cards, as he was the director of that operation.
Yes, His business card said "Director of Erections"...
Yes, but the boards I used to get the ac above the storm windows are toast.Ouch!
Hopefully, your frame is still intact.
The pex is good, it's the F@%ing fittings. I think it was a case of stress corrosion cracking.
Which reminds me, I had a cold water hose to a bathroom sink fail similarly. Brass cracked off near the nut. I'm sure that was SCC also.
Not 100% certain, but I think removing lead from the brass in water supply components had given us inferior brass.
Knowing this now, I would have spec'd stainless pex fittings. If any of you ever build a house, keep that in mind...
Yah... What he said, doubles for me.
Ahh, OK. I feel just a little better now!I said PEX in my other post. It was Qest. I was wrong. West had fer-shit fittings.

Around here we went from sweat copper to PEX. Maybe a little CPVC mixed in there in a few places.
I know of at least one person who had to re-plumb his whole house when the sweat copper failed. Lead free solder dissolved
with the water coming from his well. As much as we complain about lead, it does help stabilize solders and other metals.
So, you never know.
Copper crush ring or crimp ring stainless style? FYI, I think they're both good. The landlady wants to build a house. I'm thinking PEX, and now I know to spring for the s/s fittings.

There is even a pre-ICUM session the day before the big meeting. Either someone is clueless, or they have a pretty good sense of humor.
I don’t know if I wanna be invited to this event or not…
Just so many options, I wasn't sure. But glad you clarified. What else did you think it meant???![]()
