Not everything translates all that well:

I work for a large international property and casualty insurance company. Every two years on even years they have a large meeting of property underwriting bigwigs, called IPUM. (International Property Underwriting Meeting).

Following this logic, what do you think they call the casualty meetings???
Yup…

There is even a pre-ICUM session the day before the big meeting. Either someone is clueless, or they have a pretty good sense of humor.

I don’t know if I wanna be invited to this event or not…😂

The pex is good, it's the F@%ing fittings. I think it was a case of stress corrosion cracking.

Which reminds me, I had a cold water hose to a bathroom sink fail similarly. Brass cracked off near the nut. I'm sure that was SCC also.

Not 100% certain, but I think removing lead from the brass in water supply components had given us inferior brass.

Knowing this now, I would have spec'd stainless pex fittings. If any of you ever build a house, keep that in mind...

I said PEX in my other post. It was Qest. I was wrong. Qest had fer-shit fittings.

Ahh, OK. I feel just a little better now!

Around here we went from sweat copper to PEX. Maybe a little CPVC mixed in there in a few places.
I know of at least one person who had to re-plumb his whole house when the sweat copper failed. Lead free solder disolved
with the water coming from his well. As much as we complain about lead, it does help stabilize solders and other metals.
So, you never know.

CPVC is good pipe. After 20 years, it gets brittle and breaks if you look at it sideways.

I haven't had the solder crap out on one yet, but I'm not on a well, either. We might put one in on the farm.

The landlady wants to build a house. I'm thinking PEX, and now I know to spring for the s/s fittings.

Copper crush ring or crimp ring stainless style? FYI, I think they're both good.
I did use crush rings on the PEX-AL-PEX air lines in the shop. Also doubled up on those. That's a non standard use for the pex and it is air, so...

PVC, CPVC, whatever it takes

honestly - good advice
Greek to me ATM but good to squirrel away for a rainy day
Around this forum ATM...has some different meanings.
You might need to clarify! :ROFLMAO:
on this thread in particular I'm pretty sure it's used to mean "At The Moment"
that was my usage in any case 🤷‍♀️
I though maybe "According To Me"... What else did you think it was?
I wasn't the one who thought it meant something else.
What else did you think it meant??? 🤨 :ROFLMAO:
