I've always read the books. I can control my fear that way. I don't like being scared. Campfires don't scare me.

There is a podcast in the UK called Uncanny. I scared myself to death listening to it on dog walks in the winter. The guy who's on it wrote 'Ghost Story: 2.22' - a great play - if you've ever seen it

Rollercoasters make me feel sick. Who likes being nauseous?

Do you prefer horror movies, books, campfire tales, podcasts, rollercoasters? What is your preferred way to enjoy being scared.
Books. Well old me loves books. I love King. His short stories are especially good at those little unsettling whispers in the dark.

These days I can't really handle it. I get too anxious not knowing what will happen so then I have to find all the spoilers and by then I've lost interest

Like a few others have posted, I'm not a big horror movie fan but I do like Steven King's novels which a friend of mine got me hooked on. She gave me one of her Steven King novels and I've been a fan since then going back nearly 40yrs.

Female Vampire would be my pick for a sexy horror character.

As for a horror movie well IT or The Stand. But to add an Aussie movie in there, it would be Wolf Creek. Some people might say the Aussie countryside is a horror story given all the deadly animals we have here in Australia.

Just to change the topic if anyone wants to check out an Aussie tough guy movie, Chopper is one to watch. Stars Eric Bana as a bad guy and hit man, based on a real person in the Aussie crime world. If you don't know who Eric Bana is, he was The Hulk (2003) and also acted in Black Hawk Down, was also in Troy. Some people might still not be aware he is an Aussie.

Was on tour through Europe on one of those age appropriate tours. Everyone was between 18-35 yrs old, mainly in our 20's. Most of the people on this tour were Aussies with some Kiwis (New Zealanders) and a few Canadians. Aussies and Kiwis tend to travel to the same spots around the world. And I learned where there are Aussies there is usually a couple of Canadians. We were on the Greece leg of the tour in a Greek tavern on this night. So one of our Aussie group said to one of the women on the tour.."let's go, mate". As people are now aware the word "mate" in Aussie lingo means buddy/friend. So one of the Canadian guys said..."wait you guys just tell a woman, let's go mate and she leaves with you"...of course us Aussies are always up for a prank, said..."yep, that's all you have to do in Australia". So the Aussie guys within earshot of this conversation just kept the joke going and a couple of the Aussie women joined in. So this Canadian guy walked away thinking that's how you pick up women in Australia you just have to say "let's go mate" and they will. And for the rest of the tour we didn't tell him it was a joke. It did make us laugh though and no matter how hard he tried, none of the women on the tour wanted to have anything to do with him and that included the Canadian women on the tour. When I was travelling thru Canada on several visits, the women would always comment on my lovely British accent which it isn't. They just wanted me to talk about anything just to hear me talk. Which my Canadian friends found rather funny.

On the theme of Aussie lingo. A quick intro.

"crack a fat" - boner/erection

"rooting" - having sex, so when you Americans say you are rooting for the team, it makes us Aussies laugh.

"cockhead" - idiot, "hey cockhead" - means a warning to the respective idiot, it's an aggressive comment.

"clever dick" - sarcasm towards someone who does something or says something to show they are better than you. It's a backhanded compliment.

"rooted" - means something is broken. "mate your car is rooted", "it's fucked mate"

"bum pack" - what Americans call a Fanny Pack. Note for our American friends, a Fanny in Aussie lingo is a vagina. So when you guys say Fanny Pack in Australia we laugh cause you are saying Vagina Pack. So if you get caught in the rain whilst in Australia, don't utter the phrase..."my fanny pack is wet". I've heard Americans say this out loud, well because Americans are loud when not in America.

We also throw the C word around in Aussie lingo.

"you're a cunt" - means you're stupid/arsehole (asshole for you Americans).

"have a go ya cunt" - means you're about to fight someone.

We also take some of our lingo from the UK, such as :

"got pissed" - means got drunk,

"taking the piss" - means you are trying to fool me.

"you like to drink piss" - means you like to drink bad beer like Fosters.

FYI we don't drink Fosters in Australia so don't ask for it if you come here. We used to drink Fosters about 40yrs ago, but CUB (Carlton and United Breweries - Melbourne company) changed the recipe to appeal to the UK market and we stopped drinking it because the taste was completely different and nobody here in Australia liked the new taste so we stopped drinking it and pubs removed it as a tap beer. You could only get it in bottles and cans after that, then it went off the market due to the lack of sales. You can still buy it in either bottles and cans but only in selective areas to cater to the tourist market.

OMG, it's Sara 🤭🤣
Who is Sara?
Maybe Mina or Lucy from Dracula?
You realize what happened to Lucy, right? Maybe just go with Mina?
The Spiral Staircase (1946). I saw this as a child, late night tv, and it scared the bejeezus out of me
I won’t ruin the ending but Ethel Barrymore kicks ass at the end. I love that scene!
Alien queen

I always identified a lot with Carrie when I was younger. The quiet outcast. Unfortunately I never got the telekinesis

The Birds

I don't like the body horror types. I prefer the psychological mind fucks rather than gore and gratuitous jumpscares

Oh maybe pushed off a tall tower in my nightdress, slowly falling against the backdrop of a full moon
These are all great answers. 😍

What horror movie character do you think you are most like?
This is a tough one. I would like to think I’m pretty much Kurt Russel in The Thing, but I’m probably more Kenneth Tobey in the original The Thing—he seemed more confused like I would probably be.

I also think I might be David from An American Werewolf in London. I can see me reacting to things the way he did.
What horror movie character would you most like to be?
Probably Paul from Friday the 13th part 2, because he gets Ginny (Amy Steele)!
What horror movie character would you like to have sex with?
Ginny (Friday the 13th part 2)!
What is your favorite horror movie?
Halloween (1978)
What horror movie are you still too afraid to watch?
I fear no movie.
If you were playing a character in a horror movie, what type of death scene would you like?
There is a scene in Slaughter High where a guy and girl are having sex and she grabs an electrified metal headboard and the get electrocuted while orgasming.

That seems like a great way to go.
Who is the sexiest horror movie monster (any antagonist)?
I bet Jason has a pretty great dick and balls. I don’t know why I feel that way, I just do.
What is the best nude scene in a horror movie?
Pamela Susan Shoop in Halloween II.
Do you prefer horror movies, books, campfire tales, podcasts, rollercoasters? What is your preferred way to enjoy being scared.
All. I’m always up for a good scary story.

What is your favorite horror movie?
Hmmm. Tough.

-I love all the old black and white Universal monster movies.
-The Thing (1982) has to top the list, plus return of the Living Dead as far as camp (and two of the only gory movies I can watch. 🫣)
-The Changeling (1980) might be my favorite supernatural movie.

This is an impossible question. 🤣

What horror movie are you still too afraid to watch?
The Spiral Staircase (1946). I saw this as a child, late night tv, and it scared the bejeezus out of me. 🫣
There are few answers on here with which I have agreed with as much as this one. I want make popcorn and watch movies with you on a couch under a big blanket right now...

Together we could make it through The Spiral Staircase.

What horror movie character would you most like to be?
Maybe Mina or Lucy from Dracula? Some character where I do nothing but wander about a gothic mansion in a nightgown looking ethereal.
Lucy becomes a child killing monster. Go with Mina. Best yet, be BookMina. BookMina kicks ass.

I listened to a great adaptation last year. Tim Curry was Van Helsing 😍

Its a shame that a lot of adaptations now run with the idea that Mina is Dracs true love reincarnated (though I will always adore Winona). It does such a disservice to her character, her inner strength and her love for Jonathan.

Yes, I hate, hate, HATE that part of Bram Stoker's Dracula. They talk about wanting to go back to the original story, in which has none of the crap they added. I know, why -- in the novel, Dracula is barely in the last half, and he is a raping monster rather than a sexy Gary Oldman, but still. Making Mina fall in love with him completely does my girl wrong. In the book, Mina has an incredible agency for a woman in a book written in 1897. And in the movie, Drac turns her best friend, the sweet, loveable Lucy, into a vampire that kills children exclusively. And WinnonaMina is just like, "okay, but I love him!" BookMina was determined to destroy Dracula, and put her soul in hock to do so. And BookMina is complexly in love with her husband. She is a great character.

I also hate Dracula's stupid weird ass armor. It was ridiculous looking and made no sense whatsoever. And had horns, the stupidest addition to armor ever.

I would listen to anything that had Tim Curry in it. Hell, I watched Congo...

I call myself a horror movie fan, but people seem to misinterpret that. I have never seen a second of any Saw movie, I don’t know who The Nun is, Annabelle can suck my balls and I don’t like anything Rob Zombie has done.

Horror isn’t just slashers, gore and zombies. Jaws, Norman Bates, Nosferatu, The Wicked Witch, Frankenstein (the doctor and the Monster), even Gossamer from Bugs Bunny are all horror characters. And, when you’re a kid, anything can scare you. Remember that lady in Superman III that gets turned into a robot? Terrifying!

Anyway, just a reminder that Halloween is awesome and everyone is entitled to one good scare! (<—Halloween reference).

I think honesty is completely overrated.

I've really sat with this one for a long time and I do understand that need in others. I certainly don't have it in myself.

Like everything in life, there's a lot of grey areas in all things honest and true, etc. It's a really interesting part of someone's "character" - their honesty. Because in my opinion it's still subjective.
Well, yes. Honesty is expressing your thoughts and feelings sincerely and accurately, so it's subjective by definition.

Honesty isn't the same as truth. Do you mean that you don't always feel the need to express your opinions accurately, or that you don't always feel the need to tell people the truth about things?

I don’t know who Sara is. But, I’d let her chop me into bits after sex.

What horror movie character do you think you are most like?

Patrick Bateman. He knows a good business card when he sees it.

What horror movie character would you most like to be?

Jigsaw. I like how mysterious he is.

What horror movie character would you like to have sex with?

Jennifer Tilly from Chucky. I can’t quite put my finger on why that is, though…

What is your favorite horror movie?

Fright Night or Lost Boys

What horror movie are you still too afraid to watch?

I don’t think I’ve ever run across a movie I was too afraid to watch. I don’t like super gory movies, but that’s just because I find them a bit annoying, not because I find them scary.

If you were playing a character in a horror movie, what type of death scene would you like?

Bitten by a sexy female vampire. Easy answer.

Who is the sexiest horror movie monster (any antagonist)?

Gonna have to say my girl Alyssa…

While Alyssa might be considered the protagonist, if I remember the movie correctly, she was a bad vampire from a past life. I don’t remember much except that there were vampires and it starred Alyssa Milano’s boobs.

If you don’t like that answer, the alien from Species.

What is the best nude scene in a horror movie?

See above.

Do you prefer horror movies, books, campfire tales, podcasts, rollercoasters?

Movies.

What is your preferred way to enjoy being scared.

I like watching a good psychologically stimulating horror. Blood and guts do nothing for me. The only movie I would consider gory that I thought was decent was the first Saw. I liked the plot. But I like to be left all uncomfortable.

Funny thing… my parents let me watch whatever I wanted as a child. Not sure why, but when I was about 4, my favourite movie was Fright Night. I watched that all the time. Over and over. Never had a nightmare.

Who did I have a nightmare about? Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty the cartoon. That bitch scared me pee-less.

The girl in the picture

But who is she? Where can we see more of her in less?

I read up on this and now I want to see! :cattail:

There is a podcast in the UK called Uncanny.
I just started listening to this last week. I’m almost done with the entire thing. Love it!
I was sent a couple of episodes to try, but have yet to listen. Something I need to rectify, clearly.

Books. Well old me loves books. I love King. His short stories are especially good at those little unsettling whispers in the dark.
I don't care for his novels, but I do like his short stories. Strawberry Spring really got me when first read! An audio version was done sometime in the last couple of years.

Will you let me close my eyes and hold my hand and tell me when the closet scene is over?

If so, 😎

I have heard of Saw and Rob Zombie. The Nun and Annabelle? No idea.

Horror is a wide genre. 🤷‍♀️

Oh! Thought of a new scare. The Weeping Angels in one of the Dr. Who reboots. I, quite literally, had to slow frame the show on those scenes. While huddled under a blanket. It was the only way I could waaaaaaaaatch. 🫣

They were terrifying.

Who is Sara?
But who is she? Where can we see more of her in less?
For those of you incapable of searching the term 'Sara with big breasts' - :p

Spelled properly of course - it might be Sara Jean Underwood. Playmate 2006. Looks just like her.

I don’t know who Sara is. But, I’d let her chop me into bits after sex.
You concern me. Possibly not as much as default and his liver, but . . . .

Well, I thought I’ve searched every potential name paired with “big breasts” and she didn’t look familiar.

Spelled properly of course - it might be Sara Jean Underwood. Playmate 2006. Looks just like her.

Does anyone else think it’s funny that Enny and Aussie knew who this girl was when Hotwords and I didn’t? Who’s the perv now?

Awwwww. You’re just saying that.
