How do you fill out your ballot?

I'm lucky in that I have a friend available while I'm filling it out (for mail-in) to bounce ideas off of. She's a Republican, older than me, and has valuable perspective.

I go through pros and cons from resources like Ballotpedia and others, support and opposition statements for ballot measures, follow money, etc. I examine the history of the candidates. Doing this prompted me to vote for Gavin Newsom's recall, for instance. (I ended up supporting Republican Kevin Faulconer for Governor.)

How do you fill out yours?

For Deplorables: What about for you?
How long do you pray on a ballot measure before selecting the most right-fringe one?
Which is your favorite bullshit source to use?
When does a candidate's skin tone get too dark for you to consider them? 🤔

on the national items, i do my own homework. for the local agenda, i have a few friends who work for the city and a few former and current council members that i engage to get as much of an inside scoop as possible.

I studied everything on the long ballot in Arizona and mailed it in last weekend. None of the measures put on our ballot by the right-wing state legislature were any good.

Two citizens' initiatives looked good, one to restore women's reproductive care rights and one for primary elections that are open to ALL voters.

Two of the judges on the AZ Supreme Court who nixed women's health care rights are up for review. That was an easy choice.

The candidates running for federal office were all easy choices, and many of the local government candidates were running unopposed.

Voting by mail is the best choice for us in the rural areas. Most of us have already voted and have tuned out the political commercials and all the media bullshit about "dead heat" polls.

The local Tribal nation is hosting.a free concert this weekend to celebrate the early voting.

Vote No on CA Prop 5.

Interesting addition on the Ohio ballot this season - party affiliation for judges.

Not a fan, though judges are difficult to research sufficiently, so I can see why

I don't see where that is any of your business

You're posting in the Politics Forum.

You're posting in a public forum (Lit).

You decided to make it our business. Don't like it? Blame yourself. 🙂

We have bubble sheets where I live. It brings me back to my high school days and all those standardized tests except we use felt tip pens instead of #2 pencils.

I miss the old lever machines.

I remember getting my first standardized test in 2nd grade, and they gave you a little practice oval to fill in on the sheet. 😆
