I've been PRANKED! [Moved here from another thread about Trump's fitness for a second term.]

Someone is out to get my goat! I received a letter saying, "... my name had been forwarded as a truly loyal and dedicated Republican–someone who understands we must stop Biden's Socialism and before it's too late."

The letter came from Speaker of the House Mike Johnson asking me for money! $1,000 to maybe just $35.00 would help. Put my check in the enclosed envelope [add a stamp of course] and send it back to the NRCC. If not "... we'll be forced to spend September and October scrambling to play catch up to the Domocrats' Dark Money Machine... instead of hammering them for their disastrous policies and their shameful political persecution of President Trump."

My blood was boiling when I reached the bottom of page one of the four-page letter. Some prankster was out to kill me! I felt it in the rage as my hands shook from disbelief at what I was reading.

We got to do this to meet "... our real goal to win the kind of large, durable House Majority we need to save the country from Biden's catastrophic "leadership" and restore the God-given rights and freedoms Americans like you and I cherish."

Mike gave me a list of 'really bad' things that ' extreme leftists' have gone through. I didn't know this! It's been so well hidden by the mastermind, bumbling, senile democratic leader, I guess.

  • Worsen the inflation crisis through trillion-dollar deficit spending binges;
  • Abolish commonsense ballot security measures in all 50 states;
  • Give statehood to Puerto Rico and Washington DC;
  • Spark a nationwide crime wave with their 'DEFUND THE POLICE" mentality;
  • Crush jobs with socialist regulations;
  • Shut down the construction of the BORDER WALL; and,
  • Make late-term abortion a permanent "right" in all 50 states!
The message is that I need to send the money! Like right now! Continues repeatedly throughout those four pages.

It ends with, "It's very, very important for you to officially be a leading member of our Republican Team in your area. Thank you for your help.–Mike

Shit, what kind of asshole pranks me with stuff from this missionary in the House of Representatives?

I am sorely tempted to mail his letter back letting him know my donation has already been sent; Joe asked for $35.00. I mailed a check for $100. According to Johnson, I over-contributed a little and under-contributed if I had sent him a check instead. Maybe I'll write another check for Joe to compensate for the amount.

Man, my hands are still shaking from disbelief and rage over getting this damn letter!

I took a few moments to reflect on that PRANK letter to me from Mike Johnson and did a little check on the Puerto Rican statehood matter. It was curious that Mike seems not to think Puerto Rico or Washington DC would make good states to join the Union. He didn't have time in his pressing plea for money to spell that out. I'm unsure of why. What I did see in a search is the following:

  • Trump said Puerto Rico should be given statehood [AND if it was good enough for him in 2017...!!]
  • Ford did also.
  • Reagan said yes.
  • G.W. Bush and G.H. Bush both agreed.
  • Then maybe that's countered by the following:
  • Clinton said yes.
  • O'Bama said yes, too.
  • Biden is in agreement they should have the right to join and have statehood.
  • 53% of the last voters on the subject in Puerto Rico said 'Yes' to joining as a state.
So, Mike, why is that is a bad thing the Dems are pulling over on us? Hum?

Maybe I should look some more into D.C. and the other 'bad' things Biden is doing and get back to Lit readers!

Anyone with an answer on that Mike Johnson list of things wrong with Democrats?

Research... continues from this article: Puerto Rico - Pros and Cons This smells more like why Mike Johnson says Democrats are attempting to push for DC and Puerto Rico to become states:

"Granting DC or Puerto Rico statehood is a partisan ploy by liberals to unfairly gain more voters for the passage of legislation that the majority of Americans reject and which can’t win approval under existing laws.

"78% of Republican voters opposed making DC a state in a 2019 Gallup poll. A percentage explained by Erin Doherty of FiveThirtyEight: “adding a state could change the makeup of Congress. Washington, D.C., is a heavily Democratic city — for example, just 4 percent of its residents voted for President Trump in 2016 — so D.C. statehood would almost certainly give Democrats two more senators and one more seat in the House, all of which could make Republicans less likely to support it.” [31] [32]

"Keith Naughton, PhD, Co-Founder of Silent Majority Strategies, argued that granting DC statehood is “bad policy and uses the legitimate grievance of lack of representation by D.C. residents for temporary partisan gain.” [33]

"As Naugton explained, DC statehood is the “cause celebre of the moment for the activist Left. Stung by their lack of appeal in rural America (exacerbated by their utter unwillingness to try), adding D.C. as a state is their solution. In other words, if the rules don’t work for us, change the rules.” [33]

"US Representative James Comer (R-KY) was even more direct about Democrats’ objectives, calling the statehood push a “power grab”: “D.C. statehood is all about Speaker Pelosi and liberal Democrats consolidating their power to enact radical policies nationwide like the Green New Deal, packing the Supreme Court, and eliminating the filibuster. The Democrats’ bill is unconstitutional and no amount of testimony can change that basic fact… H.R. 51 doesn’t rest in sound policy and is a dangerous political power grab that will ensure more government intrusion into Americans’ daily lives.” [34]

"Many of the same arguments apply to Puerto Rico, though fewer Republicans (48%) are opposed to its statehood. [35]

"Senator Mitch McConnell, who summarized both statehood campaigns as “full-bore socialism,” explained that the House Democrats want to pass laws “that would turn us into a country we would never be… They’re on the way to doing some additional things… the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and by the way… they plan to make the District of Columbia a state that gives two new Democratic senators. [Make] Puerto Rico a state [and] get two more new Democratic senators. And… you’ve surely noticed [their] plan to expand the Supreme Court.” [36]

"Liberals can’t be allowed to add states just to gain support for policies that are unsupported by residents of existing US states."

Well, that answers my question about why Mike Johnson wrote me the letter and said we had to fight together to stop those Democrats with $1,000 donations to the RNCC right away. Add to this, Puerto Rico has gone through a hurricane, since 2017, and Trump showed up tossing out paper towel rolls in a publicity stunt. He left after a mayor was critical that no relief was on the horizon with any sense of urgency. The Puerto Ricans denounced Trump, so, now, he is opposed to statehood for them.

Of course there are the other things Mike said we had to fight against also... more on that later. My eye was also caught by the comments about Democrats wanting to pack the Supreme Court! What happened to that idea? Now, who is after that dangerous political power grab?

All the political mail goes in the trash. The phone calls show as POTENTIAL SPAM on the caller ID.

be careful of your blood-pressure: it's the two-stroke ploy of these letters... they hope for a cash donation but if that's not forthcoming, killing off dem voters by stroke or heart-attack will help their situation

;)

my m-i-l gets wodges of this kind of mail and doesn't even open most of it nowadays. She used to vote republican but since Jan 6th has been so disgusted with it all she may never vote again. That might not sound too bad, but at 101 she has voted in every main election she was eligible for so it's a major thing for her.

p.s
to be clear, she gets the repub begging mail, hardly a thing from dems—just the odd one.

I suggest taking a moment to get your outrage under control. Perhaps even sipping a cool refreshing glass of carbon water while you wrestle with your inner demon.

Print off a picture of a poopy diaper. Put that in the envelpe and nothing else. Let them pay the postage to get it.

Arphy, my post was sardonic humor; of all people, you should have realized that. I was not angry or pissed over getting a random piece of mail from a Republican asking for money. I get an avalanche of junk mail. They make great charcoal chimney fire starters. Know this: my outrage is reserved for 'idjits' who believe stories about carbon water or death by 12V batteries—nothing in my inner demons at this point in that letter.

It was the first time one came from Mike Johnson with my name on it. Irony pure and simple, given I loath the asshole and his pretentiousness at making America great again, especially the lines like, "I believe that America is the freest, most powerful, most successful nation in the history of the world, and I will not stand back and watch our country be sabotaged by politicians who hate our founding principles!***"

[He stood by while the J6 'patriots' threatened democracy and praised Trump afterward, knowing Trump led that rebellion. Hey, 'stand back and stand by' rather close to the lines he used, right?]

His letter did serve to prompt some research on the Puerto Rican and DC statehood topics he said were bad things Dems were pushing onto America. You agree with citizenship for them? [How about statehood for Ukraine? Lots of great farmland over there.]

I read it with a smile and set to play around with his lunacy language and false accusations, attempting to curry favor with me.

I'm working on a humous reply and plan to mail it back to him with $0.02 donation-giving him a few words of advice on looking for a new job in January.

Your tone today sounds calmer than usual. You took my advice and got back on your meds. Good for you!

That's a nice thought. :devilish:

Unfortunately, the post office returns letters that are not stamped. But not to worry—I have enough saved from the $1,000 I didn't send old Mike Johnson to buy a stamp!

BTW stamp costs are going up! So get to the post office real soon and buy another batch of Forever Stamps and save a few bucks. 😁

The OP is a rant about how you were exposed and didn't like it. You've even formulated a plan of attack against the one who exposed you.

That's not "humor" it's fear over the fact that you've been targeted by some nefarious person.

Have some carbon water. It'll calm your nerves and let you think rationally again.

Well? If you can send them back their stamped contribution envelopes with some key words of encouragement
Who hasn’t gotten an email from the other side?
I know I get right wing crap, and I unsubcribe. I wish I knew who was getting paid for my useless email address

Humor, Arphy... humor. No one exposed me... it was ... never mind. :coffee:🤭

You know what the infamous alcoholic W.C. Fields said about carbon water? "I don't drink it, 'cause fish f*ck in it!"

Lovely KKK
Replacement Theory pumped out as “facts”
“They” can’t vote! Proof that they are voting?

Corrupting the Minds of America ??

Friend,
The SAVE Act passed the House and though it was blocked last night by Senate Democrats - IT'S NOT DEAD YET. Here are three facts you need to know:
Fact #1: Joe Biden has let 10 million illegal immigrants into this country and Democrats are registering them to vote in record numbers.
Fact #2: The SAVE Act is our last chance at saving our democracy. If Republicans in Congress force passage of the SAVE Act, ensuring that noncitizens won't be able to vote in federal elections, by attaching it to the next continuing resolution, which must be passed by September 30th to avoid a shutdown - it can still become law.
Fact #3: If everyone reading this email today chips in EVEN JUST $1 right now, my team and I will have the resources we need to get the SAVE Act PASSED.

Well... Late Breaking news....

I pulled another rabbit, excuse me, letter out of my mailbox today. No, not from Mike Johnson this time. It was from his Lord and Savior, Donald J. Trump Sr.

Was I impressed by that? Well, he included a big double-sided survey on 11x17 paper, a big-assed envelope that requires extra postage to return, and asks that I send $25 to help process the survey. Donald, like Mike Johnson asks for money: 35, 50, 100... or even $5,000. Johnson, to be fair, only asked up to $1,000 in his letter.

It starts out:

"Dear Mr. Mallord,

"I need your help and I need it NOW.

"With the Presidential election only 4 months away, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their Big Government Socialist pals are spending BILLIONS of dollars in an all-out effort to buy the election and seize total control of our government. Their continuous attacks–aided by the Liberal Fake News media–are ruthless and misleading. Their on-the-ground paid operatives are bulldozing through neighborhoods all across America, armed with incendiary rhetoric aimed at pressuring undecided voters to cast a ballot for a Democratic ticket.

"To win against their onslaught of malicious non-stop attacks–especially in the most competitive battleground states–it is critical that we have the financial resources to dispute their lies and distortions and get the truth out to every citizen of this country. That means we must raise $6.7 million in the next 30 days.
...
"If the Democrats maintain control of the White House and gain control of Congress, they will permanently alter our nation–the nation that generations of Americans fought for and died for–and put their Big Government Socialist Democrats in charge for decades to come."

The letter continues to explain how I can help out the cause, especially since he passed the largest tax cut in America's history.

I can't tell you how I feel about that survey. I'd fill it out because it does ask if I approve of or disapprove of Joe Biden's job as President of the United States. Still to process it he wants $25.00. I'm guessing without that; it goes into the round circular file.

I'm going to pass on that opportunity. Trump says that without my support, those democrats will continue to spread their phony stories, and vicious attacks won't stop.

You have to be thinking right about now, he just had a big campaign haul, met with twelve billionaires in Mar-a-Lago, and is a billionaire himself. Why does he need 6.7 million dollars to fix this issue? I think that if he hadn't raped E. Jean Carroll and lost 88.3 million in that defamation suite or perhaps not lied on his taxes about paying a porn star to the tune of 450 million in fines in New York, he would have that 6.7 million in petty cash.

I say, 'Go fer it, democrats! Take the White House, the Senate, and the House as well. About damn time someone stood up and fought for the little guys!'
