I’ve never had those but I’d be open to trying and changing my rankings.Oh my God. Boiled jersey royal new potatoes are the dogs bollocks (English for fucking awesome). Also, if no boiled, then no potato salad..
I don't know if you get them over there. They are in season in spring here, and are just so amazing. It's like they have butter on them already but none has been added.. they are SO good.I’ve never had those but I’d be open to trying and changing my rankings.
Potato salad I think counts as a totally different preparation. I love potato salad.
Try Hasselback baked potatoes.I’m not saying a baked potato is bad! I’d not turn one down. But… are you saying it’s better than French fries? That’s just absurd.
YES! “Do you want a coke? We have …”I missed this discussion. Everything is Coke here.
This.Scalloped always seem not cooked right.
If you're gonna slice the potato, then fry it.
Normally, scalloped are baked and they clump together so that they don't cook right.
potato salad is also hit and miss like scalloped … cuz if you don’t boil the potatoes first and also maybe bake them just a bit so they have a yummy crispy bit to give some texture … and sometimes people put chopped celery in it which is fine… but the texture then can be weird and uncomfortable.I’ve never had those but I’d be open to trying and changing my rankings.

The ones I had were fucking delicious but I’m wondering if maybe they were something else? Because it just seems so unlikely that the dish I had would be universally disliked by this crew.This.
@morelikeasong no one is saying French fries are better than a baked potato … but we’re ALL saying that scalloped potatoes are the worst of the bunch.
Hasselback are great, but I feel like they count as something different?Try Hasselback baked potatoes.
Or, ya know, go to McDs.lightly coated in olive oil and onion soup mix and baked until all caramelized!!!

lolol convenience wins!Or, ya know, go to McDs.
(That actually does sound really good though.)
Scallop potatoes are either incredible, or horrible mush. They are binary. The ones I had were fucking delicious but I’m wondering if maybe they were something else? Because it just seems so unlikely that the dish I had would be universally disliked by this crew.
Hasselback is just a baked potato sliced differently, so I consider it a baked.Hasselback are great, but I feel like they count as something different?
Just like how roasted potatoes are also baked in the oven but I wouldn’t call them baked potatoes.
Perish the thought. Heh.Maybe I’m thinking about this too much. I know that’s a shocker
Who is putting celery in? I want names. They must be exterminated.potato salad is also hit and miss like scalloped … cuz if you don’t boil the potatoes first and also maybe bake them just a bit so they have a yummy crispy bit to give some texture … and sometimes people put chopped celery in it which is fine… but the texture then can be weird and uncomfortable.
Also the seasoning is so varying … and what to put in it.
When it’s good it’s fucking good but when it’s bad… it’s so bad it’s a crime.
I want fries. Also tots. Something I've never said? "I want scalloped potatoes." They're good when done right. Just never craved them in that French fry way.
Also, seriously, I want fries.

And if they’re fresh, they’re hard to beat for a French fry cravinglolol convenience wins!
