I've never seen a problem with spelling it "aeroplanes" because to me, that just sounds like someone from the southeast...

"You got yourself one of those fancy air o planes I see..." I have that Han Solo/Chewbacca skill thing... I can easily understand southern speak, I just don't speak it back.

I remember having to give a Bible reading at Mass and mispronounced "Ecclesiastes" once. That was pretty funny in retrospect.

I have an asshole father who loved to add these obscurities to our everyday life.

(I'm using asshole affectionately. We were a bit of a weird family with our inside jokes that were so normalized I didn't realize we were being pranked by the parentals. Such is our sense of humor)
