I think it would hit harder if you played the first 3. We didn't, since they're only available on playstation, but we checked out this summary on youtube which gave us enough backstory!

MI3 is my comfort game. I think I'll replay it yearly until it can no longer run on modern computers. The jingles that Guybrush sings to Edward van Helgen have been etched into my mind for almost 3 decades sang this one for @SalaciousMonkey22 a while back

Love the MI series, but haven’t played UC since I’ve only ever owned a PS 1 like 20+ years ago.

Coincidentally Uncharted and Monkey Island are the two most influential franchises both my kids and I played through together. I don’t remember if we caught that Easter egg! I’ll have to ask my son!

It's a tiny, tiny world some times

There's an epitaph somewhere in the game that has his name under the portrait, it's just Guy--- with the rest of the name scratched out. And his sigil's a three-headed monkey!
