Our country's fetishizing of guns is revolting

Narrative I’ve heard is that the shooter was investigated for making online threats against a middle school. Law enforcement couldn’t prosecute because of reasonable doubt caused by the shooter claiming his discord account was hacked, so he could not be held responsible. (Justice and truth @HisArpy style) Is it simple coincidence that his discord account was the one hacked? Did he make the post and his dad simply hired a good lawyer? Did the kid successfully gaslight his dad?

That next Christmas a parent gifted him an AR15. Second day of school he leaves class and returns with the gun, comes after his teacher, comes against a locked door and ends up shooting a bunch of kids and other teachers.

It seems that a kid who was “pro-social” might find some interest in his school mates. I’m not sure what definition of “anti-social” you’re referring to but this kid fits the description literally and psychology.
🧐
The problem here seems to be that the father was negligent. I don't know what was going on....but guns should not have been anywhere around this kid from the moment he was found to have made threats.

But I also know there are many complex facets here we don't even know about.

christ... ..If my kid so much as ASKED for an AR Style gun I'd be very concerned. Why on earth would a kid ask for something intended for quickly killing lots of people at a great distance? I'd feel no different than if my kid asked for a bag of arsenic, or for a bag of gun-powder, a piece of pipe, and a bag of nails.

And that's what I mean about our culture has normalized wanting to own something so diabolical. If a kid wanted poison or the makings of a bomb, alarm bells would go off. ..But an AR style weapon? "Well, that's just a boy being a boy."

Ugh.. How do we go back from here :(

You need help. Seriously.

Yesterday we heard that the father resisted buying lil Colt a rifle despite his son's pleas for years. Then all of a sudden last Christmas we hear good ole Dad bought Colt an AR-15.

Perhaps Dad was simply waiting for his son to turn 14 years old before allowing him to transition to an ammosexual?

And can someone explain to me in what reality is an AR-15 rifle an appropriate gift for a 14 year old boy with purported mental health issues? Is this a MAGA coming-of-age ritual?

Human emotions are foreign to this one.
He comes here to get his nuts stepped on by women in order to feel anything.

Have they even seen 'A Christmas Story'???
Unfortunately, the lesson learned by Ralphie was brought upon 4 others. Oh well, on to the next senseless mass shooting I guess.

Mom was a dope addict as well.

No 14 year old should be allowed to have unsupervised access to firearms., especially so if they have known mental health issues.

That chronic emotional numbness comes from Derpy’s chronic weak-spine condition and the medication Derpy takes for that chronic weak-spine condition - and Derpy’s chronic sociopathy.

😑

Derpy seems to be seeking an alternative therapy for that chronic emotional numbness.

🤔

I have to admit, though, Derpy provoking intelligent women into stepping on Derpy’s nuts is a bit extreme as far as alternative therapies go, but if it works…well…good for Derpy!!!

👍

👉 Derpy 🤣

You have real problems. Maybe see a therapist about that phobia. Nothing diabolical about guns. My granddads started me shooting when I was 5. Grew up with guns, grew up with getting my ass kicked if I made a mistake with firearms safety too.

And the short answer is, we're the USA. We don't go back. We go forward towards ensuring 2nd Amendment rights are there for all. There's a few regressive states that don't yet allow permitless carry but they're decreasing all the time.

He could very well be social. Obviously the action is antisocial. Antisocial implies that he is a loner....which hasn't been demonstrated to this point.

But he also doesn't have blue hair and tatts nor does his dad....so your preconceived notions are not doing well so far
Murder is anti-social behavior, as I said. You picking fly shit out of pepper all day long doesn't change the truth of my statement.

First, 2A rights never were and never have been there for all.
Second, either you made a mistake, luckily somehow not ending up like so many of the accidental gun deaths that now have made guns the number 1 killer of children here, and got yer ass kicked or ya didn't.

Mom was a dope addict as well.
I've not seen any updates, but I first read that the parents were divorced with the mother having custody of the younger siblings. Even if I am wrong, Colt lived with his father but because misogyny is always hand in hand with dumb conservative takes - you can't point to what would appear to be closer to toxic male masculinity and privilege than a drugged up mother.

REVEALED: Georgia school shooter Colt Gray was 'bullied for being gay'

Georgia school shooter Colt Gray was bullied by classmates who called him gay, his father told detectives in an interview last year.

Colin Grey, 54, made the claims when he was interviewed by the Jackson County Sheriff's office after the FBI received a tip that his son had threatened a shooting at his middle school.

'It was very difficult for him to go to school and not get picked on,' Colin Gray told an investigator, according to a transcript of the conversation obtained by DailyMail.com.

The father added: 'It went from one thing to another... I was trying to get him on the golf team... [they were like], "Oh, look, Colt's gay. He's dating that guy."

He's going to have a lot of problems where he's going.

Hmmmmmm...
Why is this even a concern to you????
You should probably now answer - if this was a transgender shooter then being accused of being straight or cis would have prevented the shooting from happening in the first place, amirite? GFY. Good Americans are trying to stop this not make prison rape jokes.

You make it seem like he had no friends and was alone.

There's no evidence that is true.

Shooter's mom has a 17 year rap sheet evidently.
She got a DUI in 2007
Most recently got arrested in November 2023 for possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and prescription muscle relaxers (called a "Derpy Cocktail" here on Lit)
Keyed her husband's pickup truck and altered the license plate of her car.
Did 45 days in jail and had the remainder of her five year prison sentence deferred.
