I’ve played around with enough Gaelic and Welsh words to know that if someone says “I dare you to pronounce this correctly” there is a better than not chance you can’t get there from here phonetically

I always pronounced it Skoo-kuhl.

Bonus points for those that know that kill is Dutch for river. I recall a decade or so back when PETA wanted the town of Fishkill, NY to change its name because it was cruel.
