This reminds me so much of my favorite bookstore. I almost thought it might be the same place but I don’t think mine had rugs like that. I like the coziness they add.View attachment 2381029
It's funny, I thought the same thing, but it's not the one I thought it was at first either. There is such a deep sense of homeliness about bookshops, they all have an essential atmosphere in common. Partly the smell that instantly makes you relax and settle in to being there.

I love small bookstores that you can see how they expanded and ramble. It reminds me of the original library in my hometown, which had the same feel. It was replaced by one far larger and more efficient, without a tenth of the personality. I miss it so much.

And I so love the jury-rigged bookshelves there on the right. "We need more shelves for the grimdark stuff. Hand me those boards and the hammer, I'll make one on the end of science fiction."

I keep trying to see if William Shatner’s Tek War is on the shelf because I’m pretty sure those only exist and reproduce in used book stores like this.
