Sex & Shenanigans

For those of you that believe in an afterlife … where you exist with all your loved ones …

Do you think you have to wait until they die or is it instantaneous … you all exist together simultaneously after death.
Personally, I don't understand the concept of "time doesn't exist". That might be fact - but my brain can't comprehend that. And I'm also in the reincarnation camp - but I don't believe instantaneous or instantly... nor to I believe during this time, we're in some kind of darkness. I always picture it like we're hanging out at the pool with long lost friends, relatives, whomever is around until we need to go back to earth school. 🤷‍♀️

It’s not just the time, but the place. Its origins are very NorCal-specific and it got ridiculously overused around 2001-2002. I was on a different forum back then that was like 92% 18 to 27-year old AAPIs from California, and “hella” was the dividing line between NorCal and SoCal 😜

That, and the No Doubt song “Hella Good” was cringe AF and signaled their decline and end 😒
Hella was very much a part of Metallica fandom in the mid/late 80s, picked up from them. No Internet, it was from interviews, bootlegs, and honest to God bulletin boards ...

Random sidenote … I saw these tree balls and I tried to use google to find out what they are … but google was entirely unhelpful (as usual)
Those are chestnuts! Unripe chestnuts. Kastanjer, we call them.
When they're over ripe they get suuuuper spiky and kids throw them at each other. Dangerous! Fun.

I would think the after-living would have to wait, and they would want the living to keep doing just that. The after-living might check in on the living and/or lend them some energy when they need it, but those occurrences might get less frequent as they settle into the afterlife, and begin to accept it and allow their ties to life and the living to loosen. Then, by the time those they left behind join them, they’ll be there to greet them with the love and enthusiasm of someone who hasn’t seen them in a significant amount of time

We call them conkers. Used to put them on strings and hit others conkers with them.

Also ones you can eat in winter. Double yum.

We don't eat those kinds, but there's a different kind called water chestnuts which, when roasted and served with garlic butters, are TO DIE FOR!!

Conkers I haven't heard before. Hit others with them - like sniping?

Water chestnuts taste like nothing. That’s very likely a case of “pretty much anything tastes good roasted in garlic butter.”
