Probably the best adaptation of one of his short stories into a full film. Carrie or Salem's Lot are my favorite novel adaptations, though Carpenter's Christine has some outrageous fun visuals.

Really enjoyed all three of those. I did like the first adaptation of Pet Cemetery with Fred Gwynn. I was upset with the adaptation of Thinner because they changed the ending,

The Langoliers is pretty faithful too if I remember correctly. If that one'd had a proper budget then it'd probably be a cult classic.

Terribly-executed movie, but my favorite of his short stories! My paperback copy of Four Past Midnight somehow got so battered the cover fell off IIRC, Secret Window, Secret Garden (adapted into Secret Window with Johnny Depp), which was also in that collection of 4 short stories, was also a fairly faithful adaptation

It is a cult classic already, with Bronson Pincio giving a masterclass in overacting.

I would rather be able to tell a good story that people enjoy than have my writing be technically perfect.

I agree, but also? You can do both.

Edit to add: you can tell when he got to be too big and could insist on not using an editor.

Rusty mandarin, but the first, second and third character means "take small note/book/paper" and the last character is "come" or "follow" or something. Brain working overtime

God damn it...

Playing Ghost of Tsushima for PC. Apparently the stand-alone DLC is baked into the main game. I started this before I finished the main game, and the first quest just straight up spoils the ending of the main story. I had no idea I was even in a DLC.

Now I just lost all motivation to play

Yeah it's really gorgeous.. Only thing that took me out of it is when playing with Japanese dialogue, the main character is voiced by the guy who plays Zorro in One Piece. Couldn't take it seriously. Had to swap to english.

Now I'll leave it on the bench for a while, until I find the motivation again... bleh

I tuned that out and just rolled with it. The voice acting was good.
