My TBR is more a couple of bookshelves. My idea is when Death comes for me, I will point out that I have not finished them all yet, then offer him the nice chair, a cup of tea, and his choice of any book to read, and we will go from there.

The limit of library books for a single card is 50. I have 45ish checked out. Not to mention the ones I bought when I had money.

I don't feel so bad about returning 1 and picking up 3 more, now. We're allowed 30, and that's what I have at home. But my TBR list on Goodreads is over 180...and it's usually read 1, add a few, add a few more.
I don't think we're ever supposed to be done!

I mean, if we're gonna go by Goodreads, or by all the books I own total.............
I do like that the library is one of the few places where you can make snap decisions and it's OK. It's not like you have to worry about impulse purchases of hundreds of dollars. The worst you face is fines, if you're a bad library patron!

Ours is pretty great about renewing online up to nine times. It helps me get through them.
Do you read them by the dates due or read whichever you feel for at that moment?

Oh nice! Well...since I work at a library, I incur no fines. However, I did get a threatening letter at a point. So I just let some of them sit for longer than they should. I really should get a move on, though!

I shouldn’t be bothered by it. As much as I hate the saying - it is what it is, that’s just all there is to it. It’s hard not to feel dumb when I was set on cutting off communication before, then engaged again after a few weeks of taking a break and just generally feeling stupid for it now.
