I hate those "eye check" days! I always have to be dilated, also. Invariably, I seem to manage to schedule the appointment on the sunniest day of the year!

I was so stoked it was a stormy day yesterday... only to have both the tech and the doctor remind me there was no dilation at that appointment. All that rain for nothing.

They have to hold my eye lids open for drops. I am such a bad patient when it comes to my eyes.

That's where being ridiculously near-sighted comes in handy. I can do eye drops like a champ. Can't see the dropper clearly enough to flinch. Then right before you squeeze out the drop, look to the side so it hits on the white part instead of the pupil.

Thursday. Then 10 days of no lifting or bending over. After that all depends on my sight with the temporary glasses until I get my final prescription.

Road trip day in the old truck w/o a/c. I can hardly wait. At least it'll be a tad cooler and less sunny. Kitten stays in her crate today because the windows will be open.

Do cooling towels help at all in the truck w/ windows down? I've used them outdoors and indoors but not in a car/truck.

I always like those sexy disposable sunglasses they give you for that.

My everyday is a pair that go over my glasses. But I also have clip-on sunglasses, too. Plus, I'm light-sensitive.

Thought my brother was going to have an accident he was laughing so hard.

Brother: What's up, rock star? What's with the shades?
Me: Takes off sunglasses
Brother: Wha...? Your sunglasses have sunglasses?!?
Me: (5 minutes later)
Brother: (still laughing)

Couldn’t find a vein at first. Second time was a charm. I’m not easy to stick.

After 4 failed attempts my clinic sends me to the local Children's Hospital.

After their 3rd attempt at Children's:
"OMG. I'm so sorry! We should be better than this. We stick sick babies all the time."
Me: You did pretty well. The record is 14. Between you & my primary care clinic we're only up to 7 so far.

horse shit is sucks as fertilzer, well, it has weeds. Cattle have a cud and digest the seeds. Horses, not so much. No big deal but if you have a garden and don't want wees use cow plops.

I tried something different this morning while sitting here on this park bench before work breathing. Normally I focus on ignoring everything around me. Today, I attempted to reply to a local in the customary platitude "fine thanks and you?" The listener would describe something akin to the mating noises of Chewbacca climaxing with a dying walrus. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step right?

They photograph my eye every time

I get the Retina Photo for tracking stuff like macular degeneration annually.
There's a new camera that can take a photo of the entire back of the eye - that one can be substituted for the dilation in some cases. My clinic just got one of those but not at the location where my doctor works.

Started making a wooden stand for a drip feed. I have one but it was sort of an afterthought and it is far from stable. So now I have over complicated it and it is only halfway finished.
My tomatoes are basically screaming at me for more water.

The soil is now so dry that it just doesn't absorb it anymore. Fresh, sun tanned tomatoes are no comparison to store bought.
