Our first generator had to be hooked up to the transfer switch then started like an old lawnmower with a rip cord. The transfer switch had to be manually turned to turn off the main power and use the generator.

My husband decided that was not a good system so he bought a larger whole-house generator. He hired an electrician to put in a new breaker box with an automatic switch.

At the time, I didn't really think it was necessary. I'm glad now that I don't have to deal with it in the event of a power failure.

My next door neighbor has a generator directly hooked up. If an emergency i can go there

Happy Tuesday!!! Road trip day in the old truck w/o a/c. I can hardly wait. At least it'll be a tad cooler and less sunny. Kitten stays in her crate today because the windows will be open. I have my stuff to load and we'll hit it here shortly after I brush mah toofs. Insh'Allah we have fewer shenanigans on the way Back East.

The wall story??? I bet it's a good one!

It was a saga at the time....tdk was missing and wat went on an adventure to find him. He could hear an occasional meow ....from the wall....but couldn't find the entrance point...so he put a hole in the wall where he heard the meowing..... but he wouldn't come out so we were all trying to get tdk out of the wall.......


But tdk wasn't in the wall where the hole was

He was safely lying in


The dryer. He had crawled in to the warm dryer after it had ran and the door got shut on him

He was safe and sound and now wat fixed the wall and checks the dryer for cats 4 times before he does laundry...tdk gives the dryer stink eye

At the time it was an epic saga....for that darling kitten

Right.....how did it feel? Like your skin was on inside out and your clothes were too small?

it gets easier with practice......try the 5 sense game on the bench... what are 5 things you see hear feel smell (skip the taste for now) your heart rate will slow and you will feel calmer and more relaxed

Mindfulness is good. I always forget, it's good for practicing whilst eating

Box breathing is also good whilst sitting there thinking about your senses.

I'm never good at doing thus myself though.

I did so during a meeting and found myself suddenly transported to a completely different place... 'why that is unexpected', I thought and jolted back. Fortunately I got away with it, as I certainly wasn't the only one.

Try these exercises for a week or longer to give them time to work. As well as different times and locations. It will let you know when and where it may work best for you.

Thanks. I don't mind it because I understand the reasons why it's used. But it tends to wipe me out for hours afterwards.

Got my appointments mixed up. Dilation will be next time in 6 months. Today was dry eye check-up.
Symptoms have held steady but left eye tested worse.
No more cheating on my lunchtime naps. Must take the break with the warm, damp compress and rest the eyes over lunch and hope the retest in 6 months has better numbers.

I did ask and there is a new camera that can be used in some cases to take a photo of the entire back of the eye which can eliminate the need for dilation in some cases. (Different than the current Retina Photo)

Very expensive equipment but pretty neat. My clinic has one at a location other than the one I use. that in time my location will get one, too.

They were concerned due to the fact that I I had what the doc said, and I quote, “you have the eyes of a 70 year old?!” . That was when I was 50! What the hell doc?! I asked about that this time, and he laughed. Said don’t worry, they remain the eyes of a 70yr old and haven’t aged since!

Hunkering down and waiting for the storm…hope our Florida members made it though with no problems.

The account is still in my dads name, he’s almost 4 yrs deceased, so they wanted to get the account in my moms name, then talk to someone who could get the ball rolling on the box. Well long story short, we get disconnected, she had another appointment so we agreed we’ll put it off till today.

This is how it’s done with our system also. The problem is on modern boxes there is a MAIN and a GEN…her old box doesn’t have the Main. Just the Gen. It’s rigged to just flip the Gen but what about all the others? If I had to do it, I’d flip all off, although the directions he left just said to flip the Gen. Anyhow…

She has a couple of options for power, and as long as I don’t lose power she has a third.

Important. Both my mother and grandmother lost sight due to glaucoma. I am in Thursday for my contact lense check before I order more for the shooting season. They photograph my eye every time as they are watching a blemish on the back of the eyeball. At present it all seems fine.
