Nobody, nobody is perfect. Nobody is completely good. We love to set our heroes on pedestals and pretend they are—but they’re still human, just like everyone else. Some are better than others, but to hate the art and nullify what good both the artist and art have done because all of a sudden the pedestal has been kicked away?

Separating the art from the artist I think is situational for me. How much did the actual art mean to me? I think that's the factor. I'm okay never watching the Cosby Show again. But Louis CK's material about his divorce got me through my own divorce years ago. That MEANS something. And his show on FX is brilliant. I might still give him a listen although I'm not nearly as invested as I was 10 years ago. Aerosmith and Zeppelin I grew up with. Knowing what we know now about the fucked up things they did in their past personal lives doesn't undo the experiences I had with their music. Then again Lady Gaga wasn't wrong to delete the song she did with R.Kelly.

It's different for everybody really. And I don't think anyone is wrong for how they choose to approach artists and their work.

Yeah, I used to love Louis CK, saw him live, but after what he did, his jokes just felt less funny at this point to me.

R Kelly, his crimes were so brazen and so multifaceted, it just felt worse than the typical rocker not having that voice in their head saying “no, that’s a kid”, but they could be that “I believe I can fly” never did it for me like the Led Zeppelin catalog either

Mother Teresa and I disagree there, I find no beauty in human suffering, also she was kind of a monster to people in her order too (runs away……..)
