So I won, but told her she didn't owe me anything. Because she is a person who keeps her word, she sent it anyway, on a timer. Because I am a person who keeps my word, I didn't click on it, and we both won.

I am kind of proud of that moment.

Oh, wow, thank you. There's a lot of excellent competition so that means so much :love: I'm soooooo glad @morelikeasong pushed me into sharing my little vocal doodles. I was so unbeleivably scared of it at first. But you're all awesome and it's so much fun now :heart:
 
I won't tag anyone and I certainly don't mean to leave anyone out, but I'll share a few.

The first time Amanda came at me with her savage sarcasm and I couldn't tell if that meant I was "in" or she was trying to tell me to fuck off. To be honest, still not sure, but I appreciate your intensity, nonetheless, babes.

Monkey, Bry, and Unquiet - you guys are awesome. You're just fantastic dudes and I wish you were a part of my "real" life. For a brief moment of time I had guys around me that just lifted each other and it was cosmically good. You three remind me of those guys.

CCG - you're just so chill, it's calming. It takes a special person to coordinate this special ed circus, but from the moment anyone arrives you usher them into the fold unless they prove to be a total creep.

Brenda is always the sweetest and the range of her persona is glorious. She can go from talking hosiery to LS swaps to Grand Funk Railroad and everything in between. I've enjoyed the times we both felt totally clueless to what's going on and laughed about it.

I have a memory I can't stick to a person, but I think it's TOB; I had just joined and there were comments about teaching Sunday School and the like and I was enamored with her intellect. I think it was Tig, but I'm not sure.

Dawn and I used to chat often, and I'm not sure why we don't anymore, but she is so much fun and I miss it.

MLAS is just the sweetest thing and wise beyond her years. I was stunned to learn she's sort of a youngster, but she is one of my favorites for oh so many reasons.

PG reached out and showed me that the only thing bigger and brighter than her smile is her heart, and I needed that. I could literally almost feel her hugging me across the distance and it was warm and comforting and good.

OP, Indie, & Nebs are the pinnacle of cool. I feel like being in there mere orbit is enough to elevate me, the uncool, and give legitimacy to my presence.

Kitty, Vagrant, & MissLabeled are some of the hippest and interesting people I've met. I enjoy how open they are and how much I grow because of them.

And my favorite sister-in-arms, Aussie - I feel like a neanderthal around you, but that's not because of your personality, it's because you're so damn smart it's impossible to not notice. And you're fun. And you're kind. And it's not fair that you're all these things. 😭🤣

I know I'm forgetting people, but my memories of all y'all make me smile and I hope you know that I genuinely appreciate you all. I fight demons everywhere in my life, but far fewer around you lot.

We'd talked a little bit before on the boards, joked and flirted, but this was something special. We wrote silly letters to each other in the Controversial Opinion thread, and Enby later told me that the fact that I used "Mx" to adress them made their heart skip. They felt seen. It was the moment they felt we could be friends for real.

A few days later we started DMing about shoes. Sexy shoes, nice shoes, expensive shoes. And then we never stopped. For months we DMed dozens of times per day. We were on an 11 hour time zone difference so it was always "good morning/good night" but we wrote pages and pages and pages. Not just "hi sup" but actual A4 length essays..

I miss them so fucking much. But I know they're alright. I know they've got their life on a good track now and can't come back to lit. So it's okay. But it's bittersweet.
