Trump says he was shot in the "upper part of my right ear"​

Former President Donald Trump said he was shot and hit by a bullet in the “upper part of my right ear.”
Trump said in a Truth Social statement he “knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.”

“I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

They're saying AR type rifle so probably a red dot. Minute of barn door at 50 yds.

We'll know more tomorrow about the shooter. Unfortunately we'll also hear more calls for an assault weapons ban.

Seems to me that's how it ended, with the good guys with guns stopping the bad guy with a gun.

I have no problem with that.

Spanish Civil War, Russian Civil War, arguably the (first) American Civil War: Sumner's Caning, Bleeding Kansas, Harper's Ferry. You tend to have sporadic acts of low-key violence that prelude the Main Event.

Y'know, certifiable communist though I am, I really don't think that I share even half as much of the Trump-hate as the average demprog/succdem. I did hate Dubya, I left the country for a decade in large part because of Dubya getting reelected, but I look at Trump and I just don't see someone who deserves any more hate than most Republicans and many Democrats who ever held public office. I see a piggish sleazebag, sure, but at least in that sense he's honest about what he is. I would say that 99% of the people I see bitching about his policies have no plans at all of having someone in his place who will do things differently. They just want someone in charge who can grind the workers beneath the tread of the capitalist machine without being an ass about it.
