I had this sixth sense of knowing when shit was going to go down, and extracting myself from the situation at the last minute. Parents of several of my friends in high school would say yes to any request, if I was going to be there, because somehow I was never around when people got in trouble.

One morning I woke up after a huge party at a friend’s house, and I had this sense of dread That forced me to grab my stuff and leave before anyone else woke up. His parents got home 15 minutes later (a day early). I was the trustworthy friend, in their eyes.
