Sex & Shenanigans

Does anyone ever think about the end of the universe? There was an episode of Infinite Monkey Cage where they went through how it might happen. It was really interesting and I don't worry anymore because lol help me

Where is the ever expanding edge of space, and what was before the Big Bang
Omg I think about this so much … creation from nothing. Big bang creates the universe but what creates the Big Bang ..

And are we going to be swallowed whole by a black hole at some point?

Or because of time dilation maybe we already have and that explains so much of the glitch in the matrix effects.

Plus we have no way to prove that we are not in a simulation because all we perceive of the world is only what our brain interprets of stimulus received from our senses
And honestly, what we miss, and what our brain just fills in is somewhat terrifying, even beyond the idea that we are in a simulation. The reality is that much weirder.

I read the book 1984 in high school (and I was the class of 1984 too). I hated most everything about it because it was just too depressing (and ultimately accurate).

However, I don't remember very well, but I think the end revealed the guy was a vegetable and everything was just in his mind. That concept was so upsetting to me, I consciously decided to just not "go there"... again. Ever. It's way too upsetting to me so if it's all some simulation or Matrix or whatever... I don't want to know. Life is painful enough for me, I don't want it to needlessly get worse.

I think you may be combining the end of 1984 and maybe the film Brazil. The end of 1984 was depressing, but it was in the "real world." Winston breaks, losing himself -- the anger and rebellion that were his choices, his himself.

In Brazil, Sam gets his happy ending, but it is only in his head.

I'm sure you're right... I never want to revisit that evil again. It's just waaaaaayyy too unpleasant to me. Sorry, I'm a wimp. 🤣🤣🤣

I made each of my kids read 1984 before they went to off college. It was my only pre-requisite to pay their tuition.

Reminder, there is no such thing as objective reality. Feel free to point this out next time you have a difference of events with your SO or anyone else.
