Recent testosterone therapy has unintended results

As a middle aged man taking medication for ED, I recently started on testosterone therapy to see if it would help. And it certainly did that. But it also reignited a kind of reckless lust I haven’t felt in decades. I want to do anything. everything. with co-workers, friends and strangers. It’s wonderful to have erotic thoughts again…but walking around with a orgy in my head and precum in my pants is another. Has anyone else on HRT had a similar experience?

No but I'm going to have to look into it. 😁

Are you taking only enough to raise your T levels to the normal physiologic range: 193 - 740 ng/dL?

Go much above 740 and yes, you'll be hornier than ever - but you're also significantly increasing your risk of heart attack and stroke. Even if you stay in the proper range, your doc should be monitoring your RBC & Hematocrit levels carefully. ...And if hematocrit rises much above 50 - you'll be told to stop taking T, or reduce dosage. Your PSA should be monitored too b/c if you develop prostate cancer (which is quite common in older men) T-therapy needs to be stopped immediately or it may accelerate the tumor growth.

For men who are truly hypogonadic (no longer produce own T) Testosterone therapy is a godsend. ...But for those who take it simply to feel younger (ie., DON'T have low naturally low T levels) using it is very reckless. Is your doc a Board Certified Urologist? I certainly hope so.

Testosterone Therapy is risky business - proceed w/ caution is my advice.

This describes me. And I am not on any testosterone drugs, lol

What does that say about me?

It is interesting for me to read this post. I take androgen therapy which is also called chemical castration. It is a treatment for prostate cancer. It only last for a few months but I get hot flashes and night sweats. It is interesting to not have your head on a swivel every time a hot woman walks by.
