Sex & Shenanigans

In my world, it's important to know as much as I can about as many different viewpoints which means I have to go into places and communities and listen to things that I fundamentally disagree with and explore how people form those beliefs. People are inherently interesting and the forces operating to divide us are HUGE. We have way more in common with each other than we don't
I love to learn about people. I've been around many different types over the years as well as all over the US. People fascinate me and annoy me.

Pulling this one from that thread into here…

Reminded me of how I used to have a major thing for one of my college professors. Social and Political Philosophy. He wore a button up shirt with the sleeves always rolled up and you could see the tattoo of atlas he had on his forearm.
I sat in the front row every day. I was so into him. I even went to office hours when I clearly didn’t need to, hoping that I could subtly flirt and maybe…
Alas, nothing.
I will take that as a high compliment, Princess.

I worked up in Truckee for a while (drove up every day from Carson City). I sent a message to my mother, offering to buy her the official "Donner Party Cookbook" (I doubt such a thing exists). She didn't get it at all.

I thought the fact I have zero use for, or interest in cookbooks since I don't care for most foods anyway might clue her in there was a joke in there. That, and I generally am making jokes about something. Nope. Right over her head.

I still think the idea is pretty funny. And the fact that 20 years later, I still remember a dopey joke that didn't land?? That, to me, is funny too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
