Several levels up. Which, luckily, doesn't look much like the source material. No one would watch that. It is still nihilistic and brutal, and thrives in gore and gross out humor. People either love it or hate it.

Not a joke. It started on TikTok, someone’s boyfriend/husband mentioned that’s he thinks about it at least twice a week or something like that. And then people started asking the men in their lives and turns out a LOT of guys are just like… thinking about the Roman empire all the time? It surprised me for sure.

Edit to add- there was some consensus that it is mentioned frequently in a few podcasts that have mostly guy listeners

I only dabble in true crime, but I know a TON of women that are very invested.
