Monday, April 15th: First Ever Criminal Trial for a Former US President

No, he's absolutely right. I just watched the segment with Turley prostrating himself servilely in Trump's defense on Fox. I think you were the one who cited him as a highly-respected liberal lawyer. Shockingly (said no one ever), you were either wrong, you lied, or he sold his soul for money and 15 minutes of fame on cable news.
Don't let hate diminish you. Turley is a nationally known law professor and attorney who happens to be a prominent Democrat. Make no mistake, this is a man of the law, not politics. This is about the law and the miscarriage of the law by ideological leftists. A fair person has to admit to Turley's credentials in the field of law and his bona fides to comment on this matter. He attended the trial. You didn't.

So, put the shoe on the other foot, If Biden or Obama were put through this exact series of legal events starting with a flawed grand jury indictment to the actual trial, would you be in total agreement?

There are reputable legal professionals on both sides that are truly disheartened by the direction our legal system is going. When politics infects our system of justice all guardrails disappear and we become no better than a banana republic.

Who has come out and said they don’t like democracy?

Neither did you, shithead. And whatever his bona fides are, he's obviously chosen the wrong hill to die on. I could post a dozen videos of liberal lawyers with much greater credentials than him talking about how this was an exemplary example of what American Justice should look like. You and I just aren't ever going to agree on the topic or probably anything else. And I'm bored you.

Trump’s Repeated Claims on His New York Hush Money Trial

https://www.factcheck.org/2024/05/trumps-repeated-claims-on-his-new-york-hush-money-trial/

Trump has repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that President Joe Biden is behind the prosecution of this case. This is a New York state case, and Biden has no control over it.

The former president has claimed that the judge in this case — Justice Juan Merchan — is “corrupt” or “conflicted,” but one of Trump’s own lawyers last year said he had “no issue … whatsoever” with Merchan.

Trump wrongly has claimed a limited gag order — barring remarks about certain trial participants — prevented him from answering “simple questions” or criticizing the Biden administration.

He falsely claimed that Merchan
“wouldn’t let” Trump’s defense team call campaign finance expert Bradley Smith as a witness. The judge did not say Smith couldn’t testify, although he limited what Smith could potentially discuss if he testified.

It's your opinion that the grand jury indictment was flawed, and you seem to think that any consequences for Trump's action are politically motivated, corrupt, and unconstitutional. I would absolutely support the exact same treatment under the law for any Democratic political figure. I certainly don't worship either Obama or Biden, like you tools worship Trump. I think pieces of shit like Bob Menendez should be removed from Congress and forcibly escorted into a jail cell for a decade or more. You're the one who blindly and slavishly defends your false idol.

Like I said “LOOK IN YOUR OWN BACK YARD “

There are so many points of contention with this case. Merchan was basically acting as a one man steering committee.

What is so surprising is how the information given by the DA to the grand jury was incomplete. Exculpatory evidence that was available from Costello's testimony was not included in the indictment. We all know why that evidence was left out. I'm not sure if the Brady rule extends to grand jury testimony but the fact that exculpatory evidence volunteered by Costello during a grand jury hearing was with-held had influenced the prosecution's rapid objections during Costello's cross examination by the defense.

The second point of contention was the fact that Bragg used Cohen as the primary witness for the prosecution perhaps knowing full well that in order for Cohen to support the indictment during questioning Cohen would have to perjure himself and hopefully not get caught. That subornation of perjury will, if charged at a later date, fall right in Bragg's lap. He could be charged with a felony.

Merchan put his own personal political interest ahead of justice. The inconsistencies displayed by Merchan during the trial are so numerous it's a waste of time to list them.

On to the appeals.
Obviously, Merchan was longing for the legal simplicity of his birthplace when he decided to bring it into an American courtroom.

Neither did you, shithead. And whatever his bona fides are, he's obviously chosen the wrong hill to die on.
If the appellate process does what I think it will that is the hill that I will mercilessly drag your dented ass to and cheer your intellectual crucifixion.

Bullshit. Roger Stone may have been pardoned but that doesn’t diminish the fact that he was in contact with Russian operatives and with Wikileaks. While we’re at it, who paid Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort - a Russian asset in Ukraine while he worked for the Trump campaign?
We all know that Trump is an espionage asset of Putin's. Some are just too embarrassed to admit they're being played as fools.

Trump is such a poor loser, isn't he?

Some, quite possibly Rightguide, could just be intentionally compromising our country in favor of Russian and international oligarchs.

I’m sure you use Bud Lite as a case study for the power of fear and hatred in the face of something that is a threat to absolutely no one.
I don't consume alcohol it's bad for your liver and kidneys. It probably caused the erectile dysfunction you whine about.
