I pulled out Wonder67's s'ghetti sauce recipe and the Desire to Tune that has always liked in my head. So, crushed tomatoes. I made the bestest sauce ever when I used Romas that I had grown myself. That's not happening this year, but I discovered that Contadina cans Roma maters, so I scored a bunch. It doubled the cost of that ingredient, but it sure as Hell tastes like I had a hankerin' for and that's all that matters. I use more garlic and onions, and I'm tossing in 2 pounds of mild Italian sausage. I weaseled out on the spices and just used Italian seasoning, but I used a lot of it. It''s be ready in 8 hours because it's getting the very slow cook.

I was wondering if the thread could be formatted to pull out the kind of recipe one was wanting. I am definitely not one of those who can do that, however. We must have SOME geniuses here! 🤣🤣

I’ll send her a PM and ask how she did that…I assume it’s as easy as just taking it to a Word doc and using a template? Anyhow….I think it would be a good addition to our little community as we seem to have a fair amount of good cooks hanging around this Cafe/Pub/All night greasy spoon!

Maybe we should just contribute to her thread. Seems she has it figured out. And wants to create a Lit cookbook!

Thanks for saying something. My goal is that all recipes submitted should be posted.

I started it with @cascadiabound and then other bits of Lit and life took over. Cas and I wanted an aesthetic and easy to search thread. I droppped them all a little.

@sallysparrow23 has been contributing with her bread recipes and others have been posting too.
It would be great to really get it going again. What we did before is folks pm’d me their recipe and a photo and I made a card for it.
If that works I could keep doing it. Let me know if y'all are interested or if you just want to do the same thing here I just used a canva template that I modified. 😃

Any and all recipes. Our goal was ones you have tried and have insight into. What are your go to recipes. We broke it down by type of food and I think we started a key for if it easy or more advanced? But any input is great. Does it always work or is it finicky? What tweaks have you tried? Things like that.

I often create recipes. I always take pictures of my creations. Do you want the pics? Or just the recipe?

Be safe, RJ!! Is this normal for your area and this time of year? Seems like... a lot!

There are storms predicted for all morning tomorrow and then pop-up showers off/on all afternoon. Nothing scary or intense for me - just a wet blanket for the whole dang day.
