Difference isn't as stark as I thought, but that first one also isn't at my max weight. I was probably around 290 then, started this round of weight loss at 320 (down to 255 now).

Yep, and we caught it early enough it's well controlled, so no insulin for me at this point. My A1C is all the way down in the normal range now. Just a daily pill, and a weekly shot that is ostensibly to for blood sugar but is really to add support to the weight loss efforts.
