Sex & Shenanigans

I know you worked hard, and I am sorry the weather turned, and it wasn't perfect. But "Good time. Great food. Lots of booze" is pretty close.
My friend… I spent the first half of my life living in Portland. Almost every, single holiday, had rain. Memorial day, Labor day, whatever. My family is hardy stock - we had picnics at cool parks, and almost every single one was rained out. We would end up, huddled under the shelter at some cool park… surrounded by beautiful views, lots of rain, and all our family… and it was…. Glorious. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Oh, that is glorious!

Our local Single A baseball team did a hot dog topped with mac and cheese and pulled pork. My kid had me recreate them for her softball team for labor day. They were excessive and incredible.
You just flooded me with memories. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

My uncle was only 6 years older than me. And as a kid, he was an amazing athlete. Back then, in the early 70’s, there was some grade school I think was on Lombard street somewhere. You would drive through this little gate, and back behind the school, and there were several baseball diamonds back there. Beautiful green grass, wonderful trees… I really don’t care about baseball, but sitting in the bleachers, back there, while my uncle played baseball… wonderful memories for me. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Years later, a neighborhood friend invited me to go with him to watch a Portland Beavers game. Again, I loved it. But not because of baseball exactly, but the camaraderie and friendship in the stands. So many years later, I wish I could tell those people how much I appreciated being invited, and how much I enjoyed those experiences… but alas, I cannot.

But I can thank you, for reminding me of wonderful memories and feelings from long ago. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤣
