ammunition has been my trouble too which i believe that screw up was an off spring of the obama idiot. i bought a .45 LC/.410 for snake protection and i've bought one box of .410 #7 shot online since november. meaning walmart and attwood's have not carried any .410 rounds. also there reps tell you we can't order ammo we just get what they send us is a bullshit lie.

Yeah, I noticed the pricing spike during the Obama episode. And like most price spikes, it hasn't come down. It seems to be steadily creeping up some more, too. I still have a 1000-round case of Austrian 7.62NATO ball that I paid about $180 for, and some British surplus from the same era and priced comparably. Hard to find similar ammo for under a dollar a round any more. The only good news is, I have a whole lot more dollars today than I had 2o centses then.

I never wanted a .270 but considered a .243 while I was halfway looking at a .260 also. The 6.5 was well promoted. I bought an AR10 in .308 last fall and an upper in 6.5 for shits and giggles. I hope to get to spend some quality time with them later this year.


I think that part of it is all about the new low drag bullets available in that caliber.
