Sex & Shenanigans

I don't know if I've seen that one, actually but I don't always have the best memory of movies. Lol. Especially if I saw it when I had babies.

If Emma Thompson is in it, I will happily watch it. I have loved her so much since I was young.

Love actually is one of my favorites.
It is my favorite Will Ferrell movie, end stop. He is so good in it. He plays a guy who starts hearing a woman (Thompson) narrating his life as it happens, like in a novel, who then states he is going to die. He spends the film trying to figure out what is going on and how to change it. Ferrell, Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman -- just a great cast.

I will definitely need to watch it then...

Stranger Than Fiction is definitely worth watching (even for those who don’t normally like Will Farrell movies)!
#SorryNotSorry, I haaaate Love Actually with a passion. It’s such a fucking mess in every way, I just can’t. I love Alan Rickman, but I still can’t. 🫣

Now what is your opinion on Roxanne vs Cyrano de Bergerac, specifically the 1950 version? Because I love them both.

I’m not sure I’ve seen the 1950 Cyrano de Bergerac, but loved Roxanne. Did you see the 2021 Cyrano musical movie with Peter Dinklage? Love his acting, but the songs were more misses than hits

Yes, I love Dinklage, and I agree completely.

The 1950 Cyrano stars José Ferrer, and he is a fucking revelation in that film. You can find it free (legally!) online. I really suggest it to anyone.

And I love Roxanne. Steve Martin is fantastic there.

Cyrano in many languages is great. The one in French is acted brilliantly by Gerard Depardieu
I know I’ve seen *an* older version of Cyrano, but couldn’t say for sure who starred in it or what year. Added the 1950 Jose Ferrer to my Prime queue though!

Have you seen Whatever it Takes? (Free on Tubi!) It’s a very loose 2000 teen prom romcom version with Colin Hanks, Marla Solokoff, James Franco and Jodie Lynn O’Keefe. It’s not *great* but it’s enjoyable enough and has some great moments. I admit I have a soft spot for it because it was filmed at 1 of my old high schools (the one where they also filmed 90210, Buffy [series]), and She’s All That. It was also of my own generation, although they filmed it within a year after I transferred and the characters were a year older than I was when it was released.

I am not a Will Farrell movie fan. Elf with my daughter is a holiday tradition, and I was a huge figure skating geek, so I loved Blades of Steel, kind of in spite of him, but other than that, nah. But he is so good in Stranger than Fiction. It shocked me how good he could be in a quiet role.

And yeah, I feel bad because everyone loved it, but I hated Love Actually as well. I didn't even love Rowan Atkinson's cameo. Thompson gets the one decent, earned scene in the whole move, and it is crushing. I don't get it, but everyone's opinion is equally valid.

I don’t hate Will Ferrell at all, but like any sketch comedy player turned movie star and occasional serious actor(he’s not yet in the same league as Adam Sandler, Jim Carey and Jamie Fox when it comes to serious roles), he can sometimes miss the mark. I love Elf, Step-Brothers and Stranger Than Fiction so hard though! I didn’t love Everything Must Go, Kicking and Screaming or The Sisters Brothers. Also love his drum battle with doppelgänger Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers ❤️🌶️🥁

I’ve seen and masturbated to Cruel Intentions 1, 2 and 3.

They did not get better as the series progressed. I promise you that. But I think the sex scenes were more graphic. So, in a way, I have to amend my previous statement.
I’m just going to sneak on in and say

“Up down back forth faster faster
Up down back forth faster faster”

😈🤭 runs away giggling
