Electric cars.

Uhmmm, KANSAS has nothing to do with anything.

"The United States federal excise tax on gasoline is 18.4 cents per gallon and 24.4 cents per gallon for diesel fuel."
Wiki

(That doesn't include state taxes.)

Question. What is the kW to gallon conversion? What is the kW equivalent of one gallon when it comes to a vehicle? How much should each kW be taxed? How do we convert our diesels and trains to electricity?

Think of the battery load in kG's on our road and rails. Batteries ain't light in this respect. Especially not compared to a gallon of gas and, again, patiently, we can equip gas vehicles with all sorts of carbon-capture technology, but how do we dispose of the used-up rare-earth batteries?

The altruist Utopian thinker rarely digs this deep for their materials (puns intended).
at 30 MpG for an ICE car, the average EV would require 10 KWh of energy to go the same distance, or about a $1.10 in some markets.

What? Is this going to be another thread along the lines of Carbon Based water. Electrons are not "free radicals". Oh just to be clear, this is the only chance you get at trying to claim you are "punking us". Bring it up again and I'll hold it to you just like I hold the Carbon based water to you...Carbon Water Boy.

This was ALWAYS going to devolve to Derpy going full Carbon Water.

😑

Derpy should stick to defending jaywalkers pro bono.

😑

Now factor for lights, wipers, heater, turn signals, stereo,

Then recharge it at -12.........

Don't forget to wait your turn!

I based it on a flat Fed rate of 20 cents a gallon for the feds on Gasoline, so my number is actually less.....Thanks for correcting me.

A US gallon of 87 octane is equal to 45 HP of energy. A HP is equal to 746 watts. You claim to know something about math, you do the calculations.

You don’t have a clue about using electricity do you?

This is a 40.8 kWh lithium battery bank:

BTW, this is part of an off grid solar power system that is used to charge up to 180 miles/day for Tesla EVs while the sun is shining and still has enough for powering a home at night.

A stun gun at a million + volts won't kill you. 1 to 4.5 amps is enough to possibly drop you deaders. 10 amps will kill you.

Which only proves that YOU don't know shit about electricity.

That battery bank I’m touching with my bare hand on the positive and negative terminals is ~56 volts with thousands of potential amps.

How is a 56 volt battery backpack a shock hazard?

Go fuck yourself, your honor.

Amps/ Volts /Resistance, that's what determines what combination kills people. Sorry you're a fucking dummy, but my Electrical Engineering degree agrees with my comments. Again the human bodies average resistance is 10,000 ohms (dry skin) Using Ohm's law to deliver 10 amps through a human body you need 100,000 Volts.

Neither do you, stick to Lawyering, or whatever the fuck you call it.

The idea of Harpy being a criminal judge is terrifying. How many innocent defendants are victims of his stupidity? How many malicious criminals have gone free?

Hopefully he was only a judge in a figurative sense. 😬

Yeah, no. Quit clutching your two tiny pearls.

Most passenger EVs get 3 miles/kWh in addition to accessories.

Charging at home over night works best. Some models and equipment even provide home backup power incase of utility power outages.

Batteries are now designed with core heaters that keep the battery ready or quickly warm it to receive a high current charge even in cold conditions.

Ever been somewhere cold enough to use a block heater for an ICE vehicle?

Why are you so bought in to petroleum stupidity? Do you like supporting the most profitable, subsidized, and polluting industry in the world?

Good little corporate cuck.

Those things really don't add up to much compared to propulsion, and you can precondition the cabin prior to departure if you are worried about heating.

Look, it's not for everyone, but I've not bought gas in 8 years, I recharge my car from that huge fusion reactor 90 million miles in the sky, and the only things I've put in my car since buying it in 2016 is four tires and a gallon of wiper fluid.

How can birds sit on high wires and not die?

Same deal with your battery setup; no current flow.

It's like you think the world is stupid and you can pull a fast one on it without anyone catching you.

The last couple of pages have been almost completely off topic but it has brought me to the disturbing realization that 'Arpy might just know more about electricity than he does about the Law. ;)

Hey Judge,

Explain, how can a person get shocked by using a 54 volt battery pack?

That was your claim. It was bullshit. You are bullshit.

I think it’s wonderful that the OPEC countries and constant Middle East turmoil hold sway over our gasoline prices, and therefore economy, to a large degree. Why on earth would anyone want to seek an alternative to that? 🙄
Actually Trump did. He gave us energy independence and Uncle Joe immediately gave the power back to people who do not like us in order to placate his base and force an energy transformation.

He is Scientifically and Economically illiterate, but, thank all the gods and buddhas, he's not Trump.

Trump is evil. Trump hates the environment. He wants to poison us and kill our children
I think he eats babies too...

Bullshit as usual.

Everyone has an opinion. Thanks for yours. Now, please go hate on someone who wants to hate you back.

Everything that we have been told about Canada and the temperament of its citizens were clearly all lies...

No, you have an opinion. Usually wrong, I use facts, as highlighted in my reply back to your bullshit. There is no hate involved. Facts don't involve emotions.

You have zero understanding of chaotic systems and how markets actually work.

"Because of logistical, regulatory, and quality considerations, exporting some petroleum is the most economical way to meet the market's needs. For example, refiners in the U.S. Gulf Coast region frequently find that it makes economic sense to export some of their gasoline to Mexico rather than shipping it to the U.S. East Coast because lower-cost gasoline imports from Europe may be available to the East Coast.

"Petroleum liquids include hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGLs). HGL exports, mainly propane, have increased substantially since 2008, and in 2022, were about 25% of total U.S. total petroleum gross exports."

lol you just reinforced the facts I presented........Good Job!!

No, actually we're making different points but you are incapable of seeing that.

You just want to hate on people. Something is lacking in your life.

I do feel sorry for you...
