I think a lot of people look at his live recording, which was quite a bit later. I think the oldest physical album i have of his is I'm Your Man, and it was still strong.

Many of the greatest songs writers weren't great singers, but that's sort of why I like them. Billy Joel is not a good singer, as you mentioned Dylan isn't either, and I'm blaming drug dog for not being able to name more.

As someone who.is all too familiar with post-op drug addled brain, I'll help you out: Willy Nelson. An example would be Crazy, that Patsy Cline made famous. Willy's version sounds like cats mating.

I experienced sound a little bit differently than most folks, so even over time the quality that makes me like her dislike a voice usually doesn't change. Take, for example, Celia Cruz. Me Voy a Pinar del Rio recorded in 1957, sounds completely different to most folks than La Negra Tiene Tumbao recorded on 2001. To me, the core quality, texture & color are the same, the motion is different
