Just as Kara said. The gates of the dam are seldom open. Normally only one gate is open here, but depending on the amount of snow for the year, quick rising temperatures and rainfall, the gates are opened more to mitigate flooding. This is one of 11 dams along the river, all trying to control the flooding. Three of them are power generating stations. In the worst years due to all the contributing factors, the major flooding has seen the river rise by over 7 meters.
And thank you. To someone who doesn't live near a dam, or have any snowfall, the picture in itself looked about as spring like as the can of Coke on my desk.Thank you, sometimes pics just need an explanation...
Also, it's clearly the time when snow has melted,, but deciduous trees are not green yet. The light is brighter and different from the autumn between leaves falling and snowfall. And thank you. The explanation helped, thank you
Think you're missing a pic...Spring
OK, saying it's clearly the time when the snow has melted is all well and good if you know what you're looking at.Also, it's clearly the time when snow has melted,, but deciduous trees are not green yet. The light is brighter and different from the autumn between leaves falling and snowfall.
If I take a picture of all the mud will it scream out spring to anyone? For the lives of me, I cannot figure out why no one from the southern hemisphere is participating in the theme this week.
hmmmm?
Is it different mud to autumn mid or winter mud?If I take a picture of all the mud will it scream out spring to anyone?
Idk it’s just really muddy everywhere and supposed to be spring lolIs it different mud to autumn mid or winter mud?
Is the theme of the pic mud, or is this some specific type of mud that only occurs in spring, making it a subtle, but specifically spring pic?
My guesses here are no, no, yes, no...
Well, I don't distinguish the spring from summer in some of the other picturesOK, saying it's clearly the time when the snow has melted is all well and good if you know what you're looking at.
But it wasn't clear to me at all, and I would suspect I wasn't the only one. I don't know the relative light quality between spring and autumn in wherever that pic was taken.
I didn't question that it was taken in spring. I asked why the pic had a spring theme. I've thanked everyone who answered, but the reasons were pretty niche, avd not particularly clear.
Either that or you all know straight off and I'm thick as pigshit![]()
Brilliant! So your spring themed pic is a pic that shows the absence of the theme?![]()
Here spring also includes the last snowfall. Sometimes in May.So your spring themed pic is a pic that shows the absence of the theme?![]()
My favorite color of hydrangea and what a lovely face!Hydrangeas are one of my absolute fav flowers. Which is why I think it’s completely appropriate to photo bomb them.
