No... although there were times I swore I must have taken a wrong turn and ended up in Florida, the drivers were so bad.

I was in Seattle, at a science museum up there. They were trying to get the scope of how far the moon was from the earth. They said, "If all the cars on earth were placed end to end, all the way to the moon, someone from Oregon would try to pass them."

Making mistakes while driving in an unfamiliar place does not make you a bad driver per se. Californians are good drivers simply by virtues of typically having way more practice at it. Jesus the Oregonians last week were terrible. No sense of traffic flow or merge speeds or nothing.

As someone from Oregon, you are spot on.

Edit: Washingtonians are worse. They believe the speed limit is for hooligans and hot rodders.

Do they all have California plates there too? When I drive in CA, no big deal at all. But when driving in Las Vegas, I am not exaggerating when I say that every time I see someone do something really stupid, it has California plates on it.

But wait! It gets more stupid! I had to rent a car a few months ago... and going through a neighborhood I haven't been in for a few years, I did something really stupid. When I parked the car, I realized, it had California plates. It is some kind of cosmic thing!

I've never driven in Oklahoma (and can't see any reason why I ever would), but of all the states I have been to, Florida has by far the worst drivers.
Also, the more expensive the vehicle, the shittier the driver.
This goes double for pick-up trucks.

I don't even remotely get why you would think Californians somehow drive more. But I do absolutely agree that the reason I see them most often isn't because they are bad drivers, but they are unfamiliar with Las Vegas. And there are far more people driving here from California than any other state.

And the people that live here? We just have a different style of insane driving, I'm used to that.

FL has predictably bad drivers though.
They're either old and a risk to themselves, or a spring breaker. In either case, you kind of know what to expect.

Oklahoma? No practical driving exam. For a state with a Jeffersonian Grid, you'd think they could manage a 4-way stop. But you'd be wrong.

I had a near miss every single day I rode my motorcycle, until I ran out of luck and avoided one asshole, but not the second, which totalled my bike.

Too slow. Don't know how to merge. Cuts you off. Rides the brakes. Don't use signals. I swear every time I see someone driving awful they have Ohio plates.
